 The only minor nitpick negative I can think of is the zippers don't have metal pull tabs as you would expect. The pull is via cords, and I'm not sure how long they'll stay on, but I'd be careful not to pull on them too hard. Overall I would highly recommend picking one up!

Great everyday backpack for school/work.

I've been on the search for an affordable, commuter-friendly backpack and this is the one! I love that it has a good amount of structure and the straps are very supportive. It is also very water-resistant, so I don't have to worry about my laptop or papers getting wet. This has been very comfortable to wear as a petite person!

To finish up this section, we also want to point out the water bottle pockets you’ll find on both sides of the bag. We’ve been able to fit a Hydro Flask Standard-Mouth Water Bottle with Flex Cap 21 oz inside, but it’s a tight fit. Like we touched on earlier, we have to fight against this fabric to get anything larger inside, as it’s not elasticated or very flexible. 

The bag’s back panel has some even denser padding in a honeycomb-like design that keeps you comfortable while also allowing air to circulate, so you’re not getting too sweaty. As we noted above, the bag’s material keeps it well-structured, which has helped make for a comfortable, supported carry. 

That said, they’ve still been performing nicely and haven’t let any moisture inside near our gear so far. We’ve also run into instances of water-resistant zippers getting stuck, especially around corners. On the contrary, while these zippers aren’t offering the same level of protection, they’ve been smoothly gliding open and closed since we started testing. 

You’ll find some robust YKK zippers on the Hondo that have been working well so far during testing. We would’ve liked to see an AquaGuard zipper or two to echo the water-resistant properties of the material, especially because of the restriction that the Tarpaulin causes with packing out the bag. If Chrome Industries is going to incorporate a protective-but-inconvenient material, we’d prefer to not also have to worry about water getting in through the zipper.

 It’s made getting slightly larger objects harder to get in my pack. Second, I absolutely hate the design of the drink/side pouches. It doesn’t fit my Nalgene bottle especially well, especially when I’ve first loaded the bag with my laptop and other gear. The drink pouch does not expand at all, so when the bag has some items in it already, I can’t fit my Nalgene

So you can throw this bag on and off a little bit easier gives it a little more pivoting on top, which is a nice touch, and then you just have a little loop on top

 So you could actually reach out and use your keys. But yeah, i really like this easy access pocket up on the top, so it looks like it comes with three of these um removable compression straps, so we'll look and see where those go um, yeah overall initial reaction is that this is super high quality. It'S got some kind of rubberized coated material here at the edge of each zipper. You can see it really closes up there to uh add to that water resistance

 They feel a lot more padded than i was expecting and then um. They say this. This back pad here sweeps away from your lumbar, so should be very comfortable. Then this for this back pocket that we got here is a laptop pocket

 So a really tough material and yeti has already come out and said that the easiest way to clean it is with uh soap and water, so uh should be really durable. Uh comes with a three year: three year, warranty so um yeah. This thing should last you a while. So, let's start out by just getting into this a little bit so huge pocket, openings, um and then right inside your main pocket

 So the this is supposed to be a 360 degree padded laptop protection. So it doesn't go all the way down to the bottom kind of it stops before hitting the bottom of this. To give you some a little bit of uh protection if you drop your backpack a little bit too hard and then protection on this, this is fully padded back here as well to protect that and then we've got a nice easy access pocket here, which is pretty Big actually could fit a lot in there and then we've got a strap for our keys and maybe another zipper in there i'll have to check out what that is. Let'S unpack it, we used our ultra durable materials package for this bag. Our tough skin nylon is expedition grade and the ground control base mean these packs are ultra abrasion and water resistant and because we know these bags will get dirty, we make them easy to clean with just soap and water

 We put reinforced, grab handles on every side of the bag. It'S easy to pick up put down and throw in the truck on top of the bag. The no pressure back panel sweeps away from your lumbar, so a few hours in this pack is no pain at all

 I think it would have been annoying had the pocket not been there, because then this pocket gets really full and when this pocket gets really full, the bag can get kind of top heavy. So it stands up pretty okay, but i never risk it. It definitely looks like something that is going to topple over at any point, so you you kind of when you use it. It ends up being that you want to keep it this top pocket as light as possible and find other spots in here

 Here was a little bit too stiff like. If you look a little bit closer here, if you squeeze it, it's a bit stiff right along that line, and that line is what ended up digging into my shoulders here or into my neck here. If i had the sternum straps on so i think that what the the biggest thing lacking in this backpack for me was comfort. If the straps had a little bit of mesh on them, it would have been nicer as they are

 If you're going to be walking around all day long, you don't want to be fussing with it, especially if you're not wearing a jacket, because if you wear a jacket, it is a little bit more cushioned just by nature, but you're not always going to have a Jacket on when you're walking around this back panel here is a similar foam, but it does have the pass-through for luggage. So if you are on the go, you're totally good to put this on top of your existing luggage, because this is a day pack i can see you know this is the kind of thing that you would take with you on a trip just to have for Walking around during the day - and that comes in handy so that you don't always have to wear it through an airport or train station or anywhere, where you're going to be using public transit. Anything like that so coming to the top again here, we've got this pocket, which is the main access pocket for this flip top. So in terms of external storage, this is really all you have unless you do want to loop anything through these cords

 I do like the profile of this the the fact that the water bottles on the inside makes it really nice. It'S a good feature to have. If you just want that very very sleek look, but it did leave a little bit to be desired in terms of functionality just with this top pocket. Here, that's a little hard to see and then getting into the pack itself with flipping the pocket every single time, and if it's not full, as you can see, you kind of can't get in there and if it's

Like other comments, this backpack is well made but the way it is constructed reduces how much it will hold. I sent this size back and I’m waiting for the 35L to arrive.
