We walk away from the Rains Backpack with a few key take-aways, not least of which are the less-than-ideal shoulder straps and its fiddly adjustment, the subpar internal visibility for this black variant, and the interior pocket’s zipper that was prone to jamming. It’s not all bad, though, as we still think that the styling’s appeal still holds up.

Our experience with the harness system wasn’t the most comfortable—especially when the bag was heavily loaded. The thin straps offered no cushion and dug into our shoulders, making it tiresome to carry for long periods. Plus, the shoulder straps took time to re-adjust, requiring us to take off the entire pack whenever we needed to—a problem we seldom encountered in other backpacks with more typical strap adjusters.

 I can't actually reach the d-ring with the spring loaded clip to close the bag, just because I filled it up too much, but you can actually adjust the strap that's attached to the d-ring so that you can reach the spring-loaded clip there. We go nice and clip done so three tiny six-packs are able to fit into the roll-top rucksack. Hopefully that gives you a good indication of the size and what you can fit into this bag. Okay

 Geez this thing is huge!! It can hold a lot of stuff and is well made from first impressions, but unfortunately haven't taken outdoors yet. It has a pretty beefy backpack straps however I was going to use this more for car camping to keep clothes and equipment dry in inclement weather. Lastly when I get time I'll try packing this thing up and see how comfortable it is to carry at least for a bit. As I stated the straps and padding are really beefy

This thing is a tank

I use my pack every three days and it is one of the best out there! Hiking down the steep trail with a loaded pack isn't easy. But with this pack, it makes it more enjoyable. The padded back helps when you accidentally put something sharp in the wrong place and the support helps when carrying large amounts of beer. I love how they integrated a frame pack style system into a dry bag

 First of all, the shoulder strap design is sort of obnoxious. If you don't have it fully strapped down your gonna be snagging webbing every which way. Normally, not a problem but when it is open and you need to move it across camp it was a real pain. On that note, it didn't have a functional haul loop or handle like the NRS bag

 My beef with the pack however is the straps on the outside. I really wanted to love this pack but soon become envious of my other group members that had the NRS Bills bag. First of all, the shoulder strap design is sort of obnoxious. If you don't have it fully strapped down your gonna be snagging webbing every which way
