Got this grill 5-7 years ago ( many beers since ) and this thing has no equal in my grilling arsenal . Great heat control , ease of ash removal and surprisingly large cooking area I can fit two full racks of spare ribs on here ,or 3 flats of chicken thighs . I can control my temps easily and put out my fire , I wish I could find a large grill with these features . Good job char griller!

Installation was a breeze and first two uses worked great. Be sure to burn or season Fire Box. Paint will blister and smoke, get that done before using for your meat. Other than that, nice product

I prefer the material feel over the wooden version and it is very robust and sticks out for a convenient grab. I am very very happy with this grill and moved on the Jumbo Joe in favor of this portable Char-griller unit.

 I really like the size of this grill and it is about 10 sq inches bigger than my Weber Jumbo Joe. I got tired of always having to put the lid somewhere so having a hinged lid barrel design is really convenient. The coal management and ash disposal are a real bonus. Also I like this particular version with the black handle

No Issues, Assembled Easy, Works Great

 The new Char Griller is setup for propane and no advertised conversion kit to allow Natural Gas, so I purchased a Propane tank. On my first few gas side grill meals, I noticed the gas grill get hot FAST. Within a few minutes with all three burners on high it can jump up over 550 degrees and keep going much higher. Even reducing all burners to lowest setting its is pushing 400+ so watch you settings and use just one or two burners if you want to cook at about 300

I really like this new Char Griller 5050 grill. I got mine at Lowes, and then added the smoker attachment from Amazon. The product is well made and assembly was simple, especially if you have a 17 year old grandson to help you put it together. All parts were included and the final fit and finish is first rate

Simple modifications make the 5050 even better

 The cooking time is longer since ur heat is father from the food. However ur food will not burn r get too dry. We r replacing a little grill of similar shape and so glad we had to replace it. This is a great buy

The Weber Smokey Mountain, or WSM, has been around for 40 years, and for good reason: It’s a durable, well-designed charcoal smoker that makes great-tasting, competition-worthy barbecue. Like most charcoal models, this cylindrical bullet smoker does have a learning curve: You’ll need to monitor the temperature inside and periodically adjust the air intake vents in order to get the heat level you want. (A port built into the side of the smoker makes it especially easy to insert a probe for monitoring those temperatures, and a large water pan helps keep those temperatures steady once you’ve achieved them.)  My first smoke was ribs and a boston butt and they proved to be the worst since I began smoking. For the next 18 months, I struggled with smoker mods, changes in my technique, fuel types/brands and etc. Feeling completely defeated, I finally reached the pinnacle of frustration and gave up smoking all together for months.  As far as smoking goes, I have almost 4 years under my belt. I started with the Brinkman Home Depot $50 special and from there I was hooked. The little Brinkman smoked lots of ribs, chicken, turkey breast and etc. It was very sensitive to ambient temperature and the type and brand of fuel used

So anyway, I was looking for a smoker and I've had Weber grills in the past and I really loved them and I thought I'm gonna check out this Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker because it had insanely high reviews I believe somewhere around like 1800 reviews on Amazon with nearly a perfect five star rating which you really don't see too often.
