Chaco Z/Cloud 2 vs Birkenstock Unisex Arizona Leather Sandal

Overall good comfortable sandals but they don't fit my foot type correctly. The arch support doesn't feel quite right and the heel strap (the only non adjustable part) is too loose. I would size down next time.

I love Birkenstocks. These are my normal size but narrow. They fit since I have a narrower foot. I love the color, and the price was great

Once it’s Chaco season mine don’t come off my feet. I got a new pair cuz my dog ate my others and the Z Cloud 2s are so comfortable right out of the box. The footbed is cushier and the straps are softer.

Same sandals I've been buying, one pair after another, for years, but I can't get comfortable in these! It's not the fit - they fit the same as always. I think it's the leather - it's not as pliable as my old shoes, maybe not as good a quality, and the first day I had to stand in them a long time, my feet were in total pain by the end of the day. One of the guys who works with me said he had a similar experience getting a new pair of his same old Birkenstock's. Has the company started cutting corners? Anybody else out there with a similar experience

I guess Chaco makes their own soles now and doesn't use Vibram anymore, I noticed that the new sole seems a bit more slippery than the old ones and the new pair are significantly squishier than my old pair which is pretty nice. The biggest difference is the sizing of the shoe. I made sure to talk to someone from Chacos to make sure I got the correct size but after trying them on and comparing them to my old pair I noticed the new Chacos are probably a quarter inch shorter than my old ones. It's fine if I'm wearing them to the grocery store but going downhill or on rocky terrain my toes are falling off the edge

My foot is long but fairly skinny; I wear between a 10 and 11 woman 's size (10 in most regular shoes, 11 in my New Balance sneakers).
