  Folks, this is a $42 wrist watch. And I think it is an incredible value for $42. So here are some thoughts and comments:  First, the nylon band is quite comfortable, much more comfortable than the resin bands found on most of the Casio G-Shock watches. The band seems stiff at first, but in short order it will soften up and contour to your wrist

  On the down side: The the leather ends that attach the band to the watch are pretty much completely worn out, but the fabric looks essentially new. I don't think it is ready to fall off my wrist, but the band is starting to look a bit shabby.  After 4 years of hard use and abuse it is time to replace the strap and possibly the battery. As I mentioned in my initial review, the cost of a replacement cloth/leather band and a new battery come quite close to the current price of a totally new watch (about $38 today)

 The timer, barometer/altimeter, alarms and displays are all still working as they should. The alarm is still loud enough to wake me up when needed. None of the functions have failed. The watch is still waterproof (I have not replaced the main seal/gasket)

Good, rugged and comfortable watch

 It's not a good choice if the main thing you want to be able to do is glance at it very quickly and see instantly what time it is. That said, the buttons work well and it looks like it can take some abuse. I've had lousy luck getting Timex watches to last, so if this proves to be durable, it's probably worth it even though I paid extra for features I'll never use.

the thermometer is useless because you're supposed to have the watch off of ...

 So, I tend to not wear it when I am warmer that comfort allows. The back-light lasts only for what seems to be 1.5 or 1.0 seconds, I find myself pushing it more than once to see the items I am wishing to see

Exactly what I needed/wanted in a digital watch

This watch is smaller than the 50 mm I expected but the quality look and feel makes up for it. I presume they measured side to side including the sensor on the left side of the crown. Numbers are smaller than expected in the face of the timepiece but clean and clear. Strap is 100% great

 I replaced the battery and it worked for about 12 hours, then died. I replaced the battery again, same results.  Since it is past the 1-year point I'm not even going to bother contacting Casio. From what everyone else says it would be a wasted effort

 I Personally don't have many divers in my collection, so while I don't imagine this will be a mainstay I like the styling cues that were used here as well as how comfortable it wears. As I had mentioned before, I'm not one to wear a big watch and at forty four millimeters, this one is well past the upper limits of where I generally like to live in. But if every watch was meant to serve a purpose, I'd say that this as I'm not a diver per se. I would treat this as my Knockaround watch and knock around at will as it's beefier

 More importantly, or rather, thankfully for me, it's not so much that I regret my purchase or hate checking the time all together to wrap it up. I Think the shadow Samurais a nice entry level divert from Seiko now that the Skx has been discontinued.  I Love this detail. as it happens at the 12, 6, and 9 positions, it really allows you to get that firmer grip on the bezel when you go to rotate it. Coming back to the lugs, you can see where they've been drilled here, which makes for easy strap changes. But as I mentioned before, I wear this watch exclusively on its metal bracelet, at least for right now as I think the design of the lugs here, with their sharp angular surfaces and that brushed finishing lend itself more to being on a metal bracelet

 On the plus side, it is very easy to read and the luminous dial is excellent in the dark. I also like the bracelet clasp design very much; better than my twenty year old Rolex. Amazon has an excellent return policy and I haven’t decided to keep or return it yet. Somewhat disappointing

 This watch does not feature a sapphire crystal, which is a feature that I love. It's one of my favorite features I always look for on a watch, and at 350 you can find a lot of competing dive watches that offer a sapphire crystal. Uh, the straps and bracelets this comes with are not a lot of people's favorites. Like I said myself, I'm not a big fan of this rubber strap based on the way it looks

 It is very comfortable and functional and I appreciate the history that's behind it, but I would prefer to wear it on a different strap. Also, the metal keeper on this strap, I don't really like it. It kind of slides around and doesn't hold the the end of the watch. It doesn't hold the end of the strap in place very well

 If you're just a desk diver like me, you know getting a well-designed well-specced watch with the sapphire crystal really cool look. At the same price or lower than this might be a better option for you. but if you really are truly attracted to the history of dive watches, if you want to appreciate something as a functional tool watch and you are looking for something that is going to be really dependable, something that you could bet your life on, I don't think you can find a better value than this, so I'm going to go ahead and leave. With that, Let me know what you guys think: Are you guys in the Seiko fanboy camp or have you kind of left them behind and moved on to other brands? Love to hear your thoughts on this as well
