  Folks, this is a $42 wrist watch. And I think it is an incredible value for $42. So here are some thoughts and comments:  First, the nylon band is quite comfortable, much more comfortable than the resin bands found on most of the Casio G-Shock watches. The band seems stiff at first, but in short order it will soften up and contour to your wrist

  On the down side: The the leather ends that attach the band to the watch are pretty much completely worn out, but the fabric looks essentially new. I don't think it is ready to fall off my wrist, but the band is starting to look a bit shabby.  After 4 years of hard use and abuse it is time to replace the strap and possibly the battery. As I mentioned in my initial review, the cost of a replacement cloth/leather band and a new battery come quite close to the current price of a totally new watch (about $38 today)

 The timer, barometer/altimeter, alarms and displays are all still working as they should. The alarm is still loud enough to wake me up when needed. None of the functions have failed. The watch is still waterproof (I have not replaced the main seal/gasket)

Good, rugged and comfortable watch

 It's not a good choice if the main thing you want to be able to do is glance at it very quickly and see instantly what time it is. That said, the buttons work well and it looks like it can take some abuse. I've had lousy luck getting Timex watches to last, so if this proves to be durable, it's probably worth it even though I paid extra for features I'll never use.

the thermometer is useless because you're supposed to have the watch off of ...

 So, I tend to not wear it when I am warmer that comfort allows. The back-light lasts only for what seems to be 1.5 or 1.0 seconds, I find myself pushing it more than once to see the items I am wishing to see

Exactly what I needed/wanted in a digital watch

This watch is smaller than the 50 mm I expected but the quality look and feel makes up for it. I presume they measured side to side including the sensor on the left side of the crown. Numbers are smaller than expected in the face of the timepiece but clean and clear. Strap is 100% great

 I replaced the battery and it worked for about 12 hours, then died. I replaced the battery again, same results.  Since it is past the 1-year point I'm not even going to bother contacting Casio. From what everyone else says it would be a wasted effort

There were some changes in Oyster Perpetual Land and it's a handsome looking dial with white gold hands, white gold Rolex crown, white, gold, individual indices that are fully loomed. You can see there's a small black square outboard of each index to animate the outer dial and also make it easier to read seconds and minutes. Now, the watch does feature hacking or stop seconds so you can stop the seconds, hand set the watch to a reference time

 This time, piece, of course, is relatively flat. This is what we call the Oyster Perpetual today, and it is the closest living descendant of the original Rolex sports hero.  It has the embossed ground characteristic of the Oyster Perpetual models, and then you can see internally. The Oyster Perpetual of this generation featured three divots drilled inside the clasp. There is no easy link not this price point, but you get three divots so you can re-anchor the bracelet inside the clasp for tuning so you can remove links, add links, and then re-anchor in those three positions to adjust the size and the fit, rolling over the case band. I love that the Oyster Perpetual stuck with the traditional Rolex case profile

This is the Rolex Oyster perpetual 39 millimeter reference 114, 300 and 904l stainless steel. It has the black dial with the all large index design that was launched in 2018 alongside a similar opaline white dial

5 millimeters and if you include the end links of the oyster bracelet, it is 49 millimeters across the wrist with a 20 millimeter spacing between the lugs. We'll throw it on my wrist, which is 16 centimeters in circumference and it fits nicely. It's broad, it's flat, it's graceful, and you can see that the oyster has always been a cushion case rather than a true round case. It sits nice and low, flat and thin with the domed bezel that allows it to easily slide underneath the dress cuff

 You can see no issues wearing this watch from side to side. plenty of clearance you can see the same from over the top, and I can recommend this watch for a wrist as small as 13 to 13 and a half centimeters circumference. Rolex has its own foundry. It makes its own alloys and this is 904l steel Rolex making the case, clasp and bracelet

 The case remains absolutely graceful. thin tapered log profiles satinated on their tops, polished on their side. and these are not the sheer sides of the Gmts, the subs, the sea dwellers, the Explorer is. There's actually a little bit of curvature top to bottom here, and it matches the curvature of the bezel with the domed bezel, giving this a little bit of an air of the Rolex bubble back made from the 30s through the 50s

Contacted vendor who responded quickly re an additional band link within days the link arrived and very easy to install. Watch now fits wonderfully and wonderful service

 Now we take a look at the bracelet, case, bracelet, and clasp, all made in Rolex's 904l steel, so described by Rolex as resistant to sea water such that it doesn't need to be rinsed after sea water exposure. Regular 316 steel would need an extra rinse. Satinated tops, polished faces as you can see removable links fixed by screws. The clasp is all of high polish internally with a lift lock system
