  Folks, this is a $42 wrist watch. And I think it is an incredible value for $42. So here are some thoughts and comments:  First, the nylon band is quite comfortable, much more comfortable than the resin bands found on most of the Casio G-Shock watches. The band seems stiff at first, but in short order it will soften up and contour to your wrist

  On the down side: The the leather ends that attach the band to the watch are pretty much completely worn out, but the fabric looks essentially new. I don't think it is ready to fall off my wrist, but the band is starting to look a bit shabby.  After 4 years of hard use and abuse it is time to replace the strap and possibly the battery. As I mentioned in my initial review, the cost of a replacement cloth/leather band and a new battery come quite close to the current price of a totally new watch (about $38 today)

 The timer, barometer/altimeter, alarms and displays are all still working as they should. The alarm is still loud enough to wake me up when needed. None of the functions have failed. The watch is still waterproof (I have not replaced the main seal/gasket)

Good, rugged and comfortable watch

 It's not a good choice if the main thing you want to be able to do is glance at it very quickly and see instantly what time it is. That said, the buttons work well and it looks like it can take some abuse. I've had lousy luck getting Timex watches to last, so if this proves to be durable, it's probably worth it even though I paid extra for features I'll never use.

the thermometer is useless because you're supposed to have the watch off of ...

 So, I tend to not wear it when I am warmer that comfort allows. The back-light lasts only for what seems to be 1.5 or 1.0 seconds, I find myself pushing it more than once to see the items I am wishing to see

Exactly what I needed/wanted in a digital watch

This watch is smaller than the 50 mm I expected but the quality look and feel makes up for it. I presume they measured side to side including the sensor on the left side of the crown. Numbers are smaller than expected in the face of the timepiece but clean and clear. Strap is 100% great

 I replaced the battery and it worked for about 12 hours, then died. I replaced the battery again, same results.  Since it is past the 1-year point I'm not even going to bother contacting Casio. From what everyone else says it would be a wasted effort

Rolex Milgauss - My first expensive watch, a gift to myself for achieving a couple of pretty significant milestones in my life. It’s best feature in my opinion is the green sapphire. When it catches the sun from an angle it’s stunning; It acts a little like fibre optics, with a green halo effect through the crystal.

I’ve been rotating the Milgauss with my Grand Seiko SBGN every day for close to 3 years and really impressed with how it still hold up, looking very minty albeit all the scratches and knocks it received. Especially when the sunlight hit, the dial is really on another level, the steel still hold its shine and brush polish really well. So doubters on Rolex finishing , I can attest that their finishing is really solid and the 914L steel is not just a marketing gimmick

 This is true to history. now. you can see the dial is also matte finished, making it one of the unusual few, and in my opinion, attractive Rolex models that uses a matte black rather than lacquered black dial. In the case, As ever, there is a soft iron paramagnetic cage

As I always say, it's the man that makes the watch, not the other way around. This is the 116-400 Gv gloss. There it is a green sapphire crystal and one of the quirks of these watches is that the laser-engraved Rolex crown that you'll find at six o'clock on the crystal of conventional Rolex model that's not present because with the green tinted crystal, you would see it full time, so this watch doesn't actually have that
