  Folks, this is a $42 wrist watch. And I think it is an incredible value for $42. So here are some thoughts and comments:  First, the nylon band is quite comfortable, much more comfortable than the resin bands found on most of the Casio G-Shock watches. The band seems stiff at first, but in short order it will soften up and contour to your wrist

  On the down side: The the leather ends that attach the band to the watch are pretty much completely worn out, but the fabric looks essentially new. I don't think it is ready to fall off my wrist, but the band is starting to look a bit shabby.  After 4 years of hard use and abuse it is time to replace the strap and possibly the battery. As I mentioned in my initial review, the cost of a replacement cloth/leather band and a new battery come quite close to the current price of a totally new watch (about $38 today)

 The timer, barometer/altimeter, alarms and displays are all still working as they should. The alarm is still loud enough to wake me up when needed. None of the functions have failed. The watch is still waterproof (I have not replaced the main seal/gasket)

Good, rugged and comfortable watch

 It's not a good choice if the main thing you want to be able to do is glance at it very quickly and see instantly what time it is. That said, the buttons work well and it looks like it can take some abuse. I've had lousy luck getting Timex watches to last, so if this proves to be durable, it's probably worth it even though I paid extra for features I'll never use.

the thermometer is useless because you're supposed to have the watch off of ...

 So, I tend to not wear it when I am warmer that comfort allows. The back-light lasts only for what seems to be 1.5 or 1.0 seconds, I find myself pushing it more than once to see the items I am wishing to see

Exactly what I needed/wanted in a digital watch

This watch is smaller than the 50 mm I expected but the quality look and feel makes up for it. I presume they measured side to side including the sensor on the left side of the crown. Numbers are smaller than expected in the face of the timepiece but clean and clear. Strap is 100% great

 I replaced the battery and it worked for about 12 hours, then died. I replaced the battery again, same results.  Since it is past the 1-year point I'm not even going to bother contacting Casio. From what everyone else says it would be a wasted effort

 really, we're quite fond of them I Personally really enjoyed the watch I'll show it to you here. This was their first watch to buy compacts which was a seagull powered chronograph. just a huge hit. Really nailed the kind of vintage aesthetic that I think everyone's trying to go for

 The original one was a an acrylic crystal which you know I think definitely suited that watch, but I think for a sporty or watch especially, you know, a modern sporty-er watch going with the sapphire is probably a safer bet for them. probably something that customers are are happy to see. Part was really great about the design of their case is that just about, despite being 12 millimeters thick which I mean frankly is a fairly decent thickness for a dive watch with a 200 meter. you know water resistant

 Part of that thickness comes from the sapphire crystal which always kind of disappears, but then the way that the case is designed from the side really goes a long way to making the watch look and feel thinner. So each of these individual components, the bezel, the mid case, the case back are individually thin and they stack up to create the 12 millimeters thick. So from the side, it does not really read as thick as all at all and it wears I think quite thin as well I mean that's something I felt about the original buy compacts to and I feel like actually with the bezel. it's even more dramatic on the the new Aquascape model, so that's just a really smart design while looking at the side as well

 Maybe it's it doesn't feel like you're wearing an actual vintage watch, but it doesn't feel like you're wearing something super modern either. It's just a really aesthetically well tuned design clearly drawing from the past fits very well. and the fact that they made this watch with you know enough of the kind of credentials to make it a usable sport watch I think is really outstanding. The sapphire crystal sapphire bezel is gonna make it so you know you're not gonna be worried about, you know, scratching up a crystal should you? you know, whatever

 I dig it. Um, it's very wearable and versatile, which I like, but it's not boring at all. It's definitely kind of a fun piece and then even like for people that are really well in doctrine to um, to micro brands that even though um, you know this might be more well known, it's still kind of a fun brand to talk about. You know, in in that it's a French brand and they do so much in-house and they really have their own kind of style

 So they wanted something that you could also not only capable, but comfortable to wear. Um, you know, when you're not diving, Because let's face it, most people who are dive watches are not out there diving with them myself included. so I think that was really smart and that's really what's helped them kind of key into this great wearable silhouette. Um, and although they're not, you know, some vintage brand that's been revived or anything like that

 Uh, closing thoughts on the wrist: Really classic proportions, fit most any situation. Um, very timeless design aesthetic. extra glossy reflectiveness. Kind of adds to that vintage aesthetic which I think is really smart
