The Grail CF SL 7 is an excellent gravel bike offered at a very reasonable price. Canyon's direct-to-consumer sales model allows them to sell their bikes at prices that most brands can't match, and this is an excellent example of that. Its lightweight carbon frame, excellent component specification, and well-rounded performance rival the more expensive competition. At less than 20 lbs with a stiff carbon frame, this svelte bike is a feathery climber with excellent power transfer in or out of the saddle. The middle of the road geometry is comfortable, and the Grail is stable at speed on the descents and remains agile with responsive and predictable handling. The build is well chosen, with a quality Shimano GRX drivetrain and brakes, tubeless wheels and tires, and a unique but comfortable cockpit setup. It was designed for gravel, but it works very well on tarmac and holds its own on mellow singletrack. We feel it is an excellent option for training, racing, and casual rides. It could also work well for overnight bike packing missions and adventure riding.

The setup features a single-piece handlebar and stem with a unique hover design intended to help reduce feedback and vibration.  You get good value for money, really good equipment. You get Shimano's new gr x, 800 do to group set which is flawless fast roll and ties like wheels, get a nice lookin frame. I loved it. Blue black lightweight stiff and even even the handlebar, has almost won me over after several months of testing, but I'd love to see a regular, normal handlebar and stem offered in this range

 Sided two profiles on the top tube down tube, very clean. Very I don't want to say it, but very German looking, but it's not an ugly bike. It'S a fast looking bike and I've had the bike for quite a few months now and that Hannibal has grown on me, and I mean I've got local mind, they're, testing, bikes and new bikes, and I didn't write it off. I know I had open mind when I tested it when it arrived and I have grown to like the appearance of the handlebar, and the thing is when you're riding a bike honestly look down which you shouldn't do because you're looking we going, you don't relate sit

 Not had to make any changes they reach from the saddle to the hood and the drops is just perfect for me and when I'm riding the bike in the hood, which my favorite position, it feels very similar to an endurance road bike. I think that's the best. Parallel for this bike, when you're trying to decide where it sits in the whole crime like category it's much closer to an endurance, road bike in terms of geometry and fit and how it feels when you're throwing it around corners, some gravel bikes lean much closer to A mountain bike when it comes to geometry, a slacker, longer reach sort of stems which is better if you're doing much more off-roading, much more challenging off-road terrain but leans towards man's bike, with rocky descents and very technical features. But if you're doing high speed well groomed kind of dirt roads and gravel tracks and a lot of Road, then a bike like this, which leans more tools and enjoy road bike, is a natural choice and an easy choice and if you're new to grab bikes, are You coming from a road bike background which many of you are then their transition in terms of handling and difference

 I think me really interesting to see how the bike would look and perform with a normal hand, bar and stem setup. I think they'd probably increase their sales a bit if they offer that as an option and kept this one people. I only had time to get it together and go for a brief shakedown ride, but it did not disappoint!

 Your feelings about the growl will probably boil down largely to how you get on with the hover bar we'll talk about that a bit later, but first of all, let's have a look at this build. This is the 2020 Canyon Grail and it's got grx components where previously it had standard Shimano Road kit on it. If you're used to Schmo knows Road ergonomics, then this stuff will be totally familiar performance wise. It feels just like your usual 105 Ortega group set

 However, a lot of other accessories that you would normally fit on a handlebar won't actually work because there's no round section anywhere on the bar, you can strap things to it if you've got lights with silicon straps they'll work, but anything that uses a straight forward bar Clamp just won't fit, so the Grail is a very capable, very unusual-looking, gravel bike. I completely applaud Canyon for doing something different with it. I don't think many manufacturers would have gone quite this extreme on the handle bar front. That bar does come with some caveats

 You get gravel friendly gearing, so that's a forty six, thirty double crank and an 11 to thirty four, so essentially, almost like a mountain bike cassette at the back gives you a pretty broad range for just about all riding, because it's a double, though the range is Wide enough with enough small steps that it works quite well on the road and off you get a nice set of alloy DT Swiss clinches they're, good width, a tuber is ready out of the box and they are fitted with these Schwalbe g1 white tan wall tires, Which, most importantly, look very cool, but also a very versatile choice of tire. They'Ve got a kind of small knobby block pattern, a little bit like an old kenda small-block, but with round knobs instead of square ones and they're all really really well on tarmac better than you'd think, while still being usefully more aggressive than just a slick off-road. So good all-round choice, if you're using this to kind of do everything bike. Obviously you hardcore, gravel riders may choose to change tires to suit conditions more precisely

 You can buy and your most affordable route into biplane handlebar ownership. I'M going to talk quite a lot about this handle bar, which canyon calls the hover bar, because it's very much the defining feature of this bicycle Canyon set out to build a comfortable high performance, gravel bike. And they could have done that by using suspension. The way specialist did, for example, with the Future Shop, but instead they designed this completely new and quite wacky handle bar, which incorporates lots of flex and also offers a variety of hand

 Only problem that I would say is that when you do take the rear wheel out, sometimes lining the through axle back up with the rear wheel can often be quite difficult and there's certainly an app to it, which takes a bit of time to get a half. Now the spec in terms of weight for this bike, it's a gravel buy. They are slightly heavier you're, never going to get one. That is quite quite as light as a road bike

 The feature of this bike - the stands out, the most is obviously the double bar now Kenyan call this the hover bar and the idea is basically that you have two levels: the first with a bit more compliance, so that when you going over a bit of rough Ground it has a bit of flex, and then it takes out those lumps and bumps so that you don't feel that build-up of fatigue in the shoulders and in your arms and then the lower bar is for. When you want a bit more of a rigid ride and you need a bit more control over the terrain that you're riding for me in practice, I find it worked really well. The first time I saw it I looked at, I thought, my goodness look at the stay of that, but honestly aesthetically, it's really growing on me and practically also. I really do think it does work and it's that little bit of suspension if you like in the front end - and it does take out a few of those blows

 Obviously it's a different system. They'Ve got rid of the quick release with these hydraulic systems.  They also have the perfect amount of grip for a bit of off-road, but not too much so that he can't keep up with your mates on road bikes got a pop.  32 spokes laced a sealed bearing Nova Tech hubs Nova Tech tabs are some of the most consistent hums that you can get for the money. With a lot of entry-level bikes, it's a good idea to upgrade to something like a 200 to 250 dollar. We all set down the line, but with these I think that you would get a pretty marginal upgrade since the hubs are really buttery, smooth and they're sealed so they're not going to need to be maintained and the rims are light enough. What is a bit peculiar about the 4130 core line though is that only some colors have the option to choose between the deep dish wheels and the box-section wheels and always I would go for the box section wheels

 They look really awesome I Got this one in Nightshade Purple and it really does pop. There's also a whole host of other paint jobs that you can choose from. State also gives you the option to choose your preferred handlebar type whether that's risers, drops, or bullhorns, which is something that the competition doesn't offer. and handlebars are one of the most important components to get rights if you want to enjoy riding and be uncomfortable on your bike

 The 4130 core line is good for the price is just that. The Kilo TT pro is amazing for the price, but if you're not in the United States and you can't get one, then the stay 4130 core line is looking like your next best option assuming you get it from a shop and let them deal with state and fixie.  Those deep dish wheels are just heavier for no reason other than looks. As far as the components go, they're pretty generic, basic, but functional. Something to note is that it does come with a 144 BCD crank set, which is slightly better than the competition, but the finish on it it looks like they may have cut some corners and that the front side has this no smooth, consistent finish, but once you turn around to the back, it just looks like that. And like most of the competition, the pedals on this thing just suck and you should upgrade them pretty much immediately
