Canon EOS Rebel T8i vs Nikon D800

6x crop sensor plus a 2x crop for 4k video. I recorded to a Ninja V (mainly to be able to break the 30 minute mark). Footage looks good for the price on an entry level camera. Not a huge dynamic range, but it looks good, especially after being able to dial things in with the tools on the Ninja V

I wanted good video as a possible option; I wanted the new generation AF system and controls etc. etc. Just all the little things that would be better about the new generation compared to the old, so I pre-ordered both a pair of D4s and D800s, the D800s from Amazon on Feb 7. While waiting for them, I canceled the D4

Always fuzzy. This is my issue, not the camera's I’m sure. Or so I thought but upon reading many Canon lens reviews I find a common thread among some is the auto focus either doesn’t work or stops working. The camera body is surprisingly light although for my smaller women’s hands I find it a little awkward, especially the shutter button

And even then, they almost never take the issue seriously on the first try, meaning you have to send the camera back in for a re-repair, which takes another three-four weeks. My D800 has been in for service twice, and I still have the same auto-focus issue, so I have to send it in a third time. Overall this means I will end up being without my new camera for a total of three months since purchasing it. Be ready for a similar experience! I think this level of service is unacceptable given the price point of this camera, and things have gotten worse since they closed down the El Segundo call center recently

You could really even look at a t7, same camera really, big drawback is no flip screen but it’s less than half the price, otherwise just get the t8i or sl3 you will be able to take fantastic photos with any of them, modern camera sensors are so good and that is a decent kit lens, you can add an ef-s 55-250 is stm lens as well if you want a nice telephoto zoom to complete the kit. You will be more than happy with the quality of images you can produce, the only limitation will really be your technique,.

The D800, as far as still images, one of the best in the biz. But perhaps one of the most highly anticipated features on the D800 was its 1080p HD vid...

The flip screen is definitely a bigggg plus! Also it comes with a lot of easy setting for beginners. I don’t use them often but they do come in handy here and there. I prefer shooting in RAW and in Manual. But even if you are still learning the auto settings are pretty dope! I also love how I can’t transfer photos without removing my SD card! The only reason why this didn’t get 5 stars is because it came with the wrong battery charger! I received a LC-E12 charger instead of an LC-E17

Movie Mode: This has been around for awhile, and the D800 has some nice features with many shooting modes to choose from, such as 24 frames for that indie look. The movie features are comparable to any of the other PRO DSLRs out there just youtube it. The D800 has continuous focus and supports external mic in and does a great job with movie production.

Partner it with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM for portrait work and you're on to a winner.

This is the reason why I stopped searching for a "good copy" of the optically superior Sigma 35mm 1.4 and settled for the more reliable Canon.

I researched for months on great entry level camera and I am a Canon person. This meets everything I need. Camera is perfect if you want it to do camera and video. I did not need big 4k video so this one worked great

Now, the question I'd really like to answer in this video is whether this camera is actually worth buying in 2022, because it is just about 2022 here....

The editing software from Canon is also great. The first pic is with a 24mm prime lens and the second and third pic is a 50mm prime. All were edited in Canon's Digital Photo Professional 4. The fourth is the 18-55 lens that comes with the camera and not edited (It's the first day I went out to use the camera)

I like the one step up setting so my 200mm lens never shoots with a shutter less than 1/400. This makes it so much easier on longer length lenses and especially zooms like the 70 - 200 where you might jump around and going back into the menu is a pain to set the min shutter each time..

I was happy with the first few test shots but then I took it on the trip I bought it for and the battery just ran out almost immediately. I thought it was nothing at first and charged it again but it keeps happening. I hate returning things but this is a big problem.

would prefer to use AAs in the body also as they are obtainable in an emergency from just about anywhere. I use the included battery in the body but set the camera to always use the AAs first. The included battery is 1900mAhr whereas I can get 2800 mAhr rechargeable batteries which give more exposures although not dramatic. Now about the most important thing in any camera
