Canon EOS Rebel T8i vs Nikon D700

Always fuzzy. This is my issue, not the camera's I’m sure. Or so I thought but upon reading many Canon lens reviews I find a common thread among some is the auto focus either doesn’t work or stops working. The camera body is surprisingly light although for my smaller women’s hands I find it a little awkward, especially the shutter button

You could really even look at a t7, same camera really, big drawback is no flip screen but it’s less than half the price, otherwise just get the t8i or sl3 you will be able to take fantastic photos with any of them, modern camera sensors are so good and that is a decent kit lens, you can add an ef-s 55-250 is stm lens as well if you want a nice telephoto zoom to complete the kit. You will be more than happy with the quality of images you can produce, the only limitation will really be your technique,.

I have the D3S but do not think the price difference is worth it. It is a better camera but i do not see any difference between the quality of my pictures on D3S versus D700. having said, i do not regret having paid $3,000 more for my D3S!!! it feels better as a camera in particular with zoom lenses.

The flip screen is definitely a bigggg plus! Also it comes with a lot of easy setting for beginners. I don’t use them often but they do come in handy here and there. I prefer shooting in RAW and in Manual. But even if you are still learning the auto settings are pretty dope! I also love how I can’t transfer photos without removing my SD card! The only reason why this didn’t get 5 stars is because it came with the wrong battery charger! I received a LC-E12 charger instead of an LC-E17

Original review: I won't get into the specs, but give my take on how this camera holds up being a generation older than the current competition. At current used prices it matches up very closely to the new Nikon full frame kid on the block-- D600, although the ergonomics and features of the D700 are closer to the the D800. The D700's lineage is from the mighty D3 so you're getting essentially the same camera in a smaller body. Slap on the optional hand grip and you can fire away at 8 FPS

Partner it with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM for portrait work and you're on to a winner.

I do like that it is pretty lightweight and for a female it just means she might use it more because it's easier to carry. Now I do like that on the T8i getting lenses are pretty easy and don't really need many accessories for it. Another concern of mine is night time photography. I'm not sure if it's the lenses that really matters but taking pictures of the night sky and star exposures is something that stands out as well, and in that regards I don't know which is better

I will say it is all-around camera. The image quality is fantastic. However, I will not recommend it for travel because it is an heavy camera, and I don't recommend it to use in extreme environment condition because the built quality and seal is not as good as Nikon D3 or Canon 1D series. For outdoor field sports such as football or soccer, you might miss crop sensor DSLR camera because it has extra reach

I researched for months on great entry level camera and I am a Canon person. This meets everything I need. Camera is perfect if you want it to do camera and video. I did not need big 4k video so this one worked great

I know the MB-D10 is more expensive but this is a prime example of "you get what you pay for..."

I was happy with the first few test shots but then I took it on the trip I bought it for and the battery just ran out almost immediately. I thought it was nothing at first and charged it again but it keeps happening. I hate returning things but this is a big problem.

The only nit I have is this camera uses more juice that most DSLRs, so be sure to keep a spare battery or two charged and ready to go. The power problem is mitigated somewhat because the charge meter appears to be fairly accurate.
