The eye auto focus is so magical and makes portrait photography that much more freeing to create. Camera features and handling - 10/10.

That said, its battery life leaves something to be desired, as you can't use it while it's charging. Also, while it can shoot at a quick 11 fps in its high-speed continuous shooting mode, it takes a long time to empty its photo buffer if you manage to fill it up. Still, if you're looking for a low-light powerhouse, this is a great option that should suit most people, thanks to its fantastic noise handling, great autofocus, and comfortable ergonomics.

Personally, when I went from the d610 to the Z5 I actually get somewhat similar battery life *during usage*. I typically turn my camera off between shots now, though. With the d610, I accidentally left it on for a week in my bag… 25% battery. That would never happen with a mirrorless, but as long as you don’t do that, and turn it off when you won’t be using it for >5 minutes, I can get pretty close battery life

If you have a big budget get the EOS R6 with an EF adapter. Sell all of the EF-S glass and invest in a quality wide to normal (or telephoto) zoom like a 24-105.

Related to this, it's important to think about what lenses she'll need for the most common shooting scenarios she is hired for. Then check the lens line-up of the camera brands--both native lenses (same brand as camera) and third-party lenses--to see if they have good affordable lenses for what she needs.

i own that lens and find it to be excellent bang for the buck.

Nicer grip, extra dial, better AF, etc. all make photography easier under different conditions and dare I say, more enjoyable.
