Canon EOS M50 vs Fujifilm X-E4

Thinking of buying a new camera as I've been learning on my Canon 30D that I got gifted a year ago. I want a compact mirrorless camera that's priced around $1000 and I've narrowed my choices down to either the Fujifilm X-E4 vs Sony a6400. The X-E4 seems to be the obvious choice because of the minor spec improvements and it being 2 years newer, but the lenses selection seems very limited.

-Shoot 4K videos What I don't like about it? -4K does not support Dual Pixel CMOS AF and cropped so much -No clog format for video editing. -Poor battery life -Sony might be a good/expensive brand to go as you progress. My recommendation will be getting an EF adapter and get the 50mm F1.4 =equal to 80mm on this cropped camera

Get an X-E4 with a pancake lens and have that be your daily carry, if you ever need a different focal length you can bring a lens with you.

I bought a zoom lens for distance shots. The auto focus is really good and there isn't a steep learning curve using this. Very happy with my purchase. I'm a total beginner photographer so I can't compare this to other mirrorless cameras on the market but would highly recommend this camera

Our Editors' Choice-winning Fujifilm X-T30 has a centered viewfinder and a molded handgrip, so it's a better fit for zoom lenses. If you're not in the Fujifilm system, the Sony a6400 is another one to consider—it puts its viewfinder in the corner like the X-E4, but uses more common mode-dial controls and has a nice grip to better balance with zoom lenses.
