I deleted my last post - it wasn't clear enough, and I've spent a good amount of time since last night (I'm neurotic like that) about "bookshelf" speakers - and WAF.  Speakers will be powered by a [SONOS Amp](https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/amp.html) (this is not necessarily the unit - I am open to other suggestions for an A/V receiver, with a budget of $350)  - I am getting one for a great price.  **My budget is $300**, but the less expensive, the better.

Household music consists of jam rock, progressive, metal, pop & country via NAS or streaming.

My question: what is going to be the best bang for my buck:

Replacing a Bose Bar with bookshelf speakers that will be powered by a SONOS Amp - more info in first post

) I have this amp in my bedroom running some Paradigm Reference Q100b’s with inputs supplied by an Arylic S50 Pro+. Obviously at this price point Cambridge made a pretty big concession- no digital inputs at all. That said- an Arylic S50 is $220 and gives you streaming and plenty of digital inputs along with a pretty decent DAC- so the 2 pieces together cost $70 more than the Denon. The combination sounds WAY BETTER than $70 more- the bass is far more detailed and tight, the highs are crisp without being fatiguing, and vocals are incredibly clear

 It is a monster on the power front- I can’t imagine anyone turning it up past 50% in a very large room- but because the soundstage is what it is, despite the extra volume it never sounds like it ever comes “alive”. Maybe it’s a bad pairing with my Paradigms, but I’ve heard these speakers with a similarly powered Marantz and they sounded better there. For $350 if there is a better stereo amplifier out there- I’ve not seen or heard it. To add the digital streaming/connectivity to bring it on par with the other 2 makes the price the same, but provides superior sound quality, and flexibility

 I can’t speak to the long term durability as I have only had it for a couple days- but I’ve never had a stereo component outright fail on me before and as solid as this one feels I doubt it will be my first. The volume knob feels great, the display is nice- but not really legible from across the room. The remote is unremarkable but successfully makes the amp louder or quieter on command so it’s hard to complain. The sound from the NAD 3020 is better than the Denon- but it’s not neutral- it sounds fatter to my ears- richer and detailed, but lacks punch compared to the other two

 So to sum up, the Cambridge is the best amp of the bunch, and the cheapest to purchase. The build quality is definitely NOT cheap though. It looks and sounds spectacular. My second choice would be the NAD, for its size and flexibility- though if you want to play music loud- you’ll want to look elsewhere

Admittedly this is my first Integrated Amplifier. I've as recently as last November started getting into vinyl records and back into my old CDs and I was in the market for an amplifier but, didn't want to spend more than $500.  This is perfect. This pairs very well (to my ears) with my Klipsch R-51M speakers and works well with my Yamaha subwoofer (yes you can plug your sub into the Rec Out output and it'll work WELL) and I love that it's an Integrated Amplifier because if I ever wanted to upgrade my turntable I don't have to worry about getting a preamp or making sure the turntable comes with one

Node is kind of a complete media streaming unit, all uh, the cambridge evo or the name unity atom. The yamaha is not that right, which i get um and so that wasn't a fair comparison but you're absolutely right. The axr 100 is 100, a fair comparison

 I really love how the Yamaha sounds with the KLHs, with one specific adjustment - relying on the loudness dial to really give some low and high end definition without the brightness of the mids causing ear fatigue. Sometimes I stick with the pure direct button for certain vinyl, but by and large the loudness dial is a particularly great feature for those of us who aren't really able to treat a room, especially since I'm in a very bright (sonically and literally) ranchette living room featuring huge ceiling windows and an entire wall of patio glass.

Pictured in my living room is the Yamaha A-S801, Fluance RT82 (with upgraded om20), KLH Model 5’s, a Philips DVD963SA SACD player, and a Mac Mini running Plex connected to the Yamaha via usb. I also stream Tidal & Spotify to a BluMe HD Bluetooth receiver connected via toslink. I really love how the Yamaha sounds with the KLHs, with one specific adjustment - relying on the loudness dial to really give some low and high end definition without the brightness of the mids causing ear fatigue. Sometimes I stick with the pure direct button for certain vinyl, but by and large the loudness dial is a particularly great feature for those of us who aren't really able to treat a room, especially since I'm in a very bright (sonically and literally) ranchette living room featuring huge ceiling windows and an entire wall of patio glass

Finally got my vintage looking system all set up in my "new" 1955 home.

 I run the sound from my Bluray to it through the digital coax cable and let the DAC in the amplifier do its thing and, wow, is it clear! This is a solid piece of equipment that I will probably use the rest of my life.  The remote control is simple and operates well. There are some gizmos on it for other Yamaha products that I will probably never own but they are easy to ignore. The items that pertain to the amplifier are well marked and easy to understand

 There is ample power for most home systems and there are connections for way more stuff than I have. I love its sound and flexibility and am extremely happy with it.

 The sound is clean, crisp, the bass is tight. It is simple--just the basic controls--yet is has inputs for just about anything you could want. I run it with a pair of Paradigm speakers (not the top of the line but they are good).  The phono preamp seems silent and not prone to coloration

  Still, the things I miss seem to have faded into the past. This amp does its job smoothly and effortlessly. There is ample power for most home systems and there are connections for way more stuff than I have. I love its sound and flexibility and am extremely happy with it

. The specs show 45hz as the low end for both but the UB51 extends more at least in this room. I've pulled them out a fair bit from the wall but the response starting 40hz is really strong whereas on the DBR62 it rolls off a lot more by comparison below 65hz.

 Gives that hifi sound... But the Yamaha mid range and low end are probably more to my taste

 As long as you keep that crossover frequency of your sub away from that hundred Hertz area, you won't have that problem of cascading filters and getting a bad ripple rent at the crossover point.  If you put it on the low setting the forum setting you're, defeating the purpose of why you bought this amp to begin with, you're crippling the amp. That'S it bottom line. You'Re! Crippling the amp, it's like having your it's like having your most powerful horse at the Kentucky Derby and you just put them away or taking a sports car and leaving in Eco mode. So you can save one mile per gallon

 I mean this is the same kind of construction. You get they're brand new CX 5100 AV pre pro mm-hmm, so it's their digital front-end is top-notch man. This is a super high-end DAC. It does sa CD in its native format the DSD all the way up to the 5 megahertz range
