Brother provides absolutely miserable user setup support in case the WIFI install failed. After several hours of hunting Brother tech support online (no phone support available this weekend day), I finally found a YouTube article that breezed me through the connection setup. I am an IT engineer and recognizing how fastidious WIFI can become, I am still appalled at the hoops needed to get this thing on line. Three hours and thank goodness for YouTube

price. My last budget printer (Brother HL-2140) has worked for 10 years now. That’s a pretty good value. If this unit lasts as long I’ll be very happy with my purchase

It was not too hard to set it up and the only issue I had/have is that it will not connect to my laptop. Everything else from my phones to home computer and my Wife’s laptop all connected easily enough. I could not decide if it was me & the laptop who were to blame or the printer. I decided that I could live with having to print from an alternative source

I have the Brother HL-L2370DW ($129). It’s essentially the same as the 2350, but includes an Ethernet port. I’m very happy with it.

The longevity and reliability of the product is a big plus. Finding a model that is not gone be disposable is a rarity these days. Ink price is also very economical. > Great performance

After that, there is a price difference of about 50$ every thousand pages worth of ink. My math is pessimistic; I'm probably saving more per page than this. I've always heard that ink is so expensive because it pays for the printer, but my math indicates the manufacturer recoups their losses after a few hundred pages worth of ink. If you too are switching from a deceptively cheap printer that was too good to be true, the Hl-L2370 seems good enough to me

Not a huge downside but still annoying. Honestly if this was a bit smaller I'd have given it 5 stars but it still gets a solid 4.

I chose separate devices primarily for the smaller footprint (small printer / scanner fits in drawer). Price-wise it was roughly the same as buying an All In One. And the Canon scanner is nicer than what I’ve seen on AIOs.

Update after ~3 months: Returning it. I'd really hoped that things would get better after the initial disastrous setup experience (see below)--and for a while, they did--but alas. I haven't used two full reams of paper, and it already says it's out of toner. I am skeptical of whether this is true, since I hadn't noticed the declining print quality you often see towards the end of the life of a toner cartridge, but either way, it just won't let me print to even see the quality

However, it excels at what it's designed to do, which is print plain documents in black and white, quickly and affordably. It uses a single black toner cartridge with a remarkably high page yield. The cartridges aren't too expensive either, so the cost-per-print is outstandingly low. However, since the drum unit is separate from the cartridges, you will need to eventually purchase a replacement drum unit

I know I need to stop doing that as they are unnecessary, a waste of paper, etc. but old habits (for an older person) are hard to break. Anyway, on this last cartridge I only got approximately 65 pages .

Appreciate the paper storage size and print cartridge capability since both allow multiple print jobs before refill necessary.
