 So we thought we'd um. What'S the term mohammed in the mountain shift one over there anyway, so onto the shoe review, it's a new shoe in store, it's from brooks and it's something that the market's been crying out for for quite a while um. It'S a road to trail shoe so back in the day, you're, either running on the road or you're running on the fells, and you either had a studded shoe or you had a flat road shoe. Obviously trail shoes have come in, there's different incantane tank incantations of them um, and this is a shoe that is a road runners trail shoe, so you can run from the home um, probably a couple of miles, it's very comfy on the road and then a little Bit of trail, so traditionally a trail shoe feels a little bit heavy a little bit stiff and those studs or cleats on the pattern can come time to push in and it doesn't feel very responsive on the hard surface

 So it's not going to be running up muddy mountains. It'S not going to be a mountain sort of sky race. Shoe, fell, shoe or anything like that. But if you're running on hard compact trails like the summer um and half of that is on road, it's fine feels just as comfy on the road, and it is good on the trail as well

 Coming from the road running background, i would recommend you recommend these shoes, because this feels like a rear road shoe, brook's device ii is comes with a brook's own trail. Tech outer saw, which one has a kind of moderate locks, is very good for road running and is really good for kind of hard packed. Moderate trail. Also, the shoe features rock plate is just a partial one, so it's just under your forefoot, so the partial rock plate on the shoe it gives you more protection against the rocks

Hi, i'm sabi from around here islington. So what i found with the brooks dy2's, they kind of very narrow, snug fit at the front and also the cautioning is very numb on it. So it's not really responsive.  I think that's a really good value for a shoe for people who want to get into trail running and try it out. Okay, overall conclusion on the divide: two: i wish it was a little plusher. I wish it was a little lighter and i wish it was a little livelier, but brooks does make that shoe. It'S called the catamount now

 I think it could be lighter. I think road runners will find this a little bit heavy compared to their comparable road shoes drop and stack. It'S got 32. Millimeters of drop in the heel, it's got an eight millimeter stack now

The brooks divide have great traction on the dirt, and even the mud, [ Music ] overall is Brooks. Divided are a great trail shoe, especially for somebody getting right into new to trail running

I want a shoe that has the cushion and drop of my Hoka Speedgoat with the toebox of my Altra Olympus 4.0.

Beware they do run very narrow at the toe and are not for everyone. If you needed the extra toe room you could look to the Hoka EVO Speedgoat,. EVO Mafate 2 or the Mafate Speed 3, all of which are high cushioned but have a stretchy bit of fabric over the toe, which can make the fit more accommodating.

I currently run in Nike Pegasus Trail Gore Tex. they are ok. But not great. 

Recently switched my road shoes to Hoka Rincon 2 for slower, longer runs and Saucony Endorphin Pro for speed runs.  I quite like the cushioning on the Rincons and am now looking for a trail shoe. 

I am nervous as the Speedgoat 4 were originally released January 2020 and the speedgoat 3 the January before that. So a little concerned that a Speedgoat 5 comes out soon.

Shoes for long days of running &amp; hiking

I’ve done a couple ultras in loose snow, which felt a lot like running in sand to me. I’ve used both the SpeedCross and Hoka SpeedGoat. The ‘goats might have had the advantage due to the much wider sole helping with flotation, but I felt they got a lot heavier when wet. In all instances I studded the soles with about 8 sheet metal screws at the end of some select lugs, which I felt helped with a little extra grip even when ice wasn’t an issue

Wondering if anyone had any advice about shoes that may be better suited for sandy environments. I’m used to running in rocky, rooty, muddy Vermont environments and want to be better prepared for a trail that is relatively flat but very sandy. I currently sport the Salomon speed cross 5s and have used them in sand before but really don’t feel like the larger lugs give any advantage

Recommendations for trail shoes for sand

For years I wore boots (really heavy), then shoes (heavy) and now trail runners (not so heavy). I prefer the Hoka One Speedgoat trail runners. They are good for dry conditions, have great grip and stability (for me). I have never had ankle stability issues, so it works great

Does anyone backpack with trail running shoes? If boots, do you use actual “backpacking” boots or just something with ankle support?

, (4) have great cushioning for all-day wear on sharp surfaces, and (5) are not so heavy that I feel like I'm fighting the shoe when picking up the pace. I've run in Altra Timps and Lone Peaks, Brooks Caldera 4, La Sportiva Jackal, Salomon Sense Ride 3, and Topo MTN Racer 1s and none of these had all-day underfoot cushioning and protection against sharps like the Speedgoats. The durability of my Speedgoats have been good.

I’m looking to purchase a new pair of trail running shoes as I’ve beat the boots I’ve been using to death. I like the look of some of the Nikes (pegasus trail 2 gtx, wildhorse 7) but I wanted some input from yall. New trail running shoes

I run in the Speedgoat 3s and the Speedgoat 4 is a step back for me with regards to weight since it got heavier. The Speedgoat Evo on the other hand, is a huge improvement and superior to the Speedgoat 3 and 4.

For 3 season hiking I chose Hoka speedgoat 3, followed very closely by the brooks cascadia. They're both VERY comfortable shoes that are light and breath + dry very well. Lightness + Breathability + Drying quickly > a heavy gnarly boot that tries to keep you clean and dry but inevitably will get water logged from sweat anyway or the elements, just might take longer vs a trail runner. Also 1 pound on your foot is 5 pounds on your back

I'm  new to hiking but my girlfriend finally convinced me to go to a hiking  trip with her, somewhere around Schönau am Königssee and on the mountain area around it (nothing extreme tho). I've been looking for some proper shoes cause I'm  pretty sure I would regret it if I go with my ultra boost, and I've  found a few alternative:

1. Salomon  Quest Prime GTX: The only boots. Is it okay or overkill? I think it's  the most robust of them all and I can wear it when hiking during winter  or ski vacation. (114 euro)
2. Salomon  XA Pro 3D V8: trail runners, seems really comfy. However, no  waterproofness (can't use it in winter). I don't know if it offers  enough protection and grip? (96 euro)
3. Salomon  Trailster 2 GTX: quite similer to the XA, with GTX waterproofness.  However I've heard some controversy regarding GTX on trail runners (too  warm, sweaty feet). (72 euro)
4. Last  but not least: Merell Moab 2 (vents or GTX). Mother of all boots.  Almost bought the vents one immediately but read that it's really,  really prone to getting wet (even with just some wet grass). Not sure if  it's true and if I should just get the GTX version. Both around 80-90  euro.

What do you guys  think? Sadly I can't go to Globetrotter cause of the 'rona. I appreciate  any answer or if you have other suggestions, I would be very thankful!  Thanks and sorry for the long post. :)
