 Not so. You have to figure out, on your own, that you need to use the "broil" mode for that step. How hard would it have been to simply state the mode to "select"? (3) the air fry basket has some usage verbiage on it, but it's not in English and is unreadable. It's not a big deal but shows sloppy merchandising

I just received the Joule Oven. I initially noticed some design mistakes: (1) the "confirm" button should have been labeled "selector". It allows the operator to "select" different modes of operation. (2) The suggested cooking collections are helpful, but the preparation description fails to tell the operator what "mode" to select

 In addition, there are no new functions in comparison to the pro air oven. Does it give the same awesome results?? YES  but in no way is what I expected of Breville in this time and age. I also expected a slightly bigger oven with a scratch prove/resistant exterior. The recipes that you can cook with the Joule feature are the ones provided, not the ones you might necessarily want to make a so that really sucks

 Today alone I made spicy chicken cutlets with panko, brussel sprouts with garlic, 2 bags of pita chips with onion and garlic powder, and roasted carrots. Going to make roasted baby eggplant later and crushed them into tomatoes, cilantro and jalapeno for the pita chips. All came out really nicely and I have lunch for work for the next few days! I am eating healthier, saving money and enjoying the creative process. Thinking of getting another so I won't have to work in so many batches

Life just got easier and healthier

I bought this fryer back in February of this year, I love it so much that I rarely use my stove or grill anymore especially for cooking chicken. My only problem is the "non stick surface" everything gets stuck to it and it takes real scrubbing to get it off. After 9 months the pan has lost its surface and looks rusted, I did use the parchment paper I bought along with the fryer but it didn't stop the food from sticking to the sides. Even the grease catcher lost some coating and that was just from using hot water,soap and a soft sponge to clean it

 On the plus side, I have not had any flaking on the basket. I got the liners and am not sure if that made a difference or if the fryer gave me a break because everything else was so horrible. I might give another fryer a chance, but will make sure to get one that a friend has used and can vouch for.

 So we’ve learned that we just have to try a few times until we find the timing and temperature that works for us. Not sure if it’s our unit in particular, this model, or just any air fryer, though. When we find the right combo, the food comes out perfectly though! This size is great for two people or for making appetizers for a small group. It does put off a bit of a funny smell too, but again, not sure if that is just common with air fryer in general

 We generally find that our particular unit seems to run hot. Typically everything we cook according to directions (the booklet provided and online searches) comes out slightly burned or overdone. So we’ve learned that we just have to try a few times until we find the timing and temperature that works for us. Not sure if it’s our unit in particular, this model, or just any air fryer, though

Good product, takes some trial and error

 I tired it a few times and was frustrated by the uneven cooking and how loon it took. Packed up and took it to Goodwill. Total waste of money and time.

 Will ask my electrician who has several things to do, if he can make it so the outlet for the air fryer can share with my coffee maker. The air fryer is 1400 watts and I have to unplug coffee maker when using the air fryer.

 Shook midway. Also baked a potato at 400, took about 7 minutes. It was a small russet potato. I spritzed on olive oil on all items

Going GoWISE

2L compact one, but not a behemoth counter-space pig like some of the 5-6 Quart air fryers. The 3.7 Quarter Go Wise Air Fryer seemed like a good choice.  Pros: It's large, but not monstrously so, and I am able to store it easily on top of my refrigerator
