 This is actually pretty awesome, because, yes, you can change the temperature you can choose if you want to have frozen foods in there or not, you can also choose to have super convection, regular, convection or not even use convection at all. The reheat feature is really useful. If you're not wanting to use your microwave and you're, also not wanting to technically cook your foods, the cookie setting is very simple as well just like with all the other settings, you can actually choose the temperature, you can choose the time and you can actually also Add convection and super convection on that as well. We both love cooking and want our wedding registry to be almost entirely things for the kitchen. Any price range is fine, we are hoping to use this as an opportunity to upgrade a lot of things we still use from our college days to higher quality items. 

We LOVE to try new things and dabble in baking as well as we love to try different ethnic cuisines from around the world, so really nothing is off limits!

"  As I write this review in Jan. 2021, this Breville unit seems to be in high demand. The oven and many of its accessories are temporarily sold out at the Amazon Warehouse and even at the manufacturer's website. The going price right for this model is about $399 when in stock, so don't be tempted by Amazon storefront sellers who may charge a lot more

I was initially attracted to this oven because it has air fryer and dehydrate functions and due to its high ratings from Consumer Reports. Yes, it is a little pricier than the others, but worth it!  I haven't had it that long yet and have much more to discover, but I have tried out a few features like toast, bagel, bake, air fry and roast. I couldn't be happier with the results: The large 6-lb chicken I recently roasted came out perfectly and evenly browned all over - even on the bottom! Nice and juicy inside, too - without any red rare spots. Plus the imported European bread I buy 80% par-baked and finish out in the oven came out fragrantly delicious with a crisp and chewy crust and soft moist center - ideal!  The bagel setting, by the way

I just got my 900 bss today. I'Ve had my eye on this for greater than one year, but wasn't convinced that i needed it enough to justify the price i live in a 250 square feet, studio on an island. I'Ve been using a little b and d oven to get by until it started top burning everything unboxing fairly uneventful, but it's pretty heavy 42 pounds and comes in a very large unhandy box. I don't normally review purchases, but the stated interior dimensions are so wrong that I thought I should as a service to others. The Breville Smart Oven I just purchased arrived on time, undamaged, and ran through one heating cycle perfectly. Quality appears good relative to price. Time will tell how well it performs on different foods and through the years

 It looks for all the world like Breville is WAY overstating the interior dimensions. It would be nice if someone (1) explained this and (2) corrected the postings. In conclusion, the Breville oven I received is one of the largest offered by any manufacturer and appears to be of reasonable quality, so I plan to keep it. But, Breville, please fix your description!

I haven’t yet baked in my Breville Smart Oven Air Fry (long name!) but I really like it! It was on sale at bed bath and beyond a few months ago but people have had success using the 20% off coupon (even though Breville is excluded - try it in store).

Does anyone have experience with countertop ovens primarily for baking cakes and macarons? Countertop Ovens for Cake

  I would recommend purchasing and placing baking matts in the bottom grill tray as it can be a chore cleaning without it. You can purchase these matts for dirt cheap on Amazon:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XKJDYL1/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1  Overall, this is a terrific oven, though with some really bad design choices that force one to not be able to mount it on a higher shelf

  I decided to take the chance on that option despite a few reviews saying that dedicated air fryer appliances did a slightly better job air frying than this particular oven.  This was an expensive purchase, no doubt. However, I had an aging Toastmaster oven that was nearly 30 years old but still kickin' butt! There really was no need to replace it, but you could just imagine what a huge upgrade in modernization this Breville presented.  At first, the Breville Smart Oven seems intimidating

..  There is a design flaw in this oven that puts one at a huge disadvantage if placed on a higher shelf, which I initially did, above my microwave. The door opens top to bottom

 The best I can say is that the Breville does a great job at coming close to producing actual fried results, but it won't pass a blind test against the real thing.  Another issue I have is the lack of support from Breville themselves. Before purchasing this oven, I wrote their customer support an email asking how much distance this oven needed to be placed from the back wall. Breville never answered me

 (it will auto shut off ) The timer will start to countdown only "after" the temperature has been reached for any mode. You can toggle on/off start from frozen and it will adjust the time accordingly. The convection fan has 2 settings. Even on the strongest

Since buying this oven the full size oven in our kitchen doesn't see much use. We use this oven for baking, reheating and air frying. It has just about replaced the microwave also. Worth the price

 I have baked cookies which came out good and the size of toaster oven is great size for heating items. I also see no paperwork as far as a warranty. Obviously, a pretty mixed review but hopefully it will help.
