Makes a big pot of scalding hot brew, strong but not bitter, and all the subtle notes perfectly discernible. Its basket, which forces coffee to pool and go through the sides after hot water fires out of a compact central shower seems to be the ticket. We added a paper filter to the basket to slow that even further, and the result is a cup to rival the 4 minute pour-through at your swankiest local shop! Yummy. Cheap

What I mean is, am I missing on something or is that flavour profile already covered by the brewers I already use? Can't really find a Chemex-V60 taste comparison (beside an exceptionally well made video by Seattle Coffee Gear). From what I could gather the V60 would give me a fuller, slightly bitter brew opposite to the smoother, crispier Chemex for the same beans/grind. Am I getting it right?

As the title says, our new Bodum pour-over arrived today. Being totally enthusiastic about it, I had to try it out at 2:30 in the afternoon. We had some Folgers Silk that's been hanging around for too long, so I used 67 grams of that with about 1010 grams of water.

Otherwise, we brew coffee, then shut it down. Let's be clear, this is a budget coffee maker. I would probably not use this for my home, but it can certainly be used in that application. It's a bare bones coffee make with basic functionality and cheap parts

It’s kind of nice to do it yourself. Just make sure you pour slowly to get all of the flavor of the ground up beans. I accidentally ordered two of these, whoops, but I’m glad I did just in case one breaks. I will have another one on hand
