 The big benefit is that I scheduled the purifier to run on Medium when I'm not in the room (which happens to be my office), and then turn back to Auto before I return. When I get back to my office the air smells and feels noticeably better than the rest of the house. Plus being able to tell alexa to turn up the purifier just seems cool. It will be more useful when I stick a second one of these in my daughters room and I can turn it to low for white noise without having to enter the room

 That being said I find myself actually using this one. It was easy to get up and running on android *(I'm a nerd, but it really just worked).  There are 3 fan speeds (low, med, high) and auto switches between them auto here  In terms of air volume coming out of the top of the units the Levoit sleep, low and medium are equivalent to the low, medium, high speeds on the 411. That means the levoit's high is a whole extra gear higher of air movement when compared to the 411. The specs of the unit corroborate this fact.  Yes, we do have 2 dogs but they are not allowed in the bedroom due to my allergies. I honestly didn't have high hopes for the smaller unit but after a couple days of it purifying the bedroom air, I noticed a huge difference. I began waking up with clear sinuses and the room smelled "different". Not a bad smell but maybe just NO smell? Anyhow, after giving the little Blue a good 30 days to prove itself, I knew I needed a larger one for our living room

  We typically have it set on auto mode or everyday mode and it's very, very quiet. I would say auto mode is more quiet or no louder than an average fan that's on it's lowest speed and everyday mode is maybe as loud as a fan on medium setting. ▪️Please see video I took of the different modes to show the sound difference between all four settings▪️  I have now had this particular unit running 24/7 for about 2 months and we love it! We live in Washington State so when it rains and our fur babies go out for break, any "wet dog" smell is gone in minutes if I kick in the boost mode but everyday mode will also take care of that within an hour or so. Sadly, I also know fire season will soon be upon us for summer and I have no doubt both units will do a fantastic job at keeping the quality of air inside our home filtered, clean and smelling fresh during the seasonal bad air quality

 We will be tackling a full home remodel next year which we'll be adding central heating and air but even then, I plan on keeping both these units up and running!  Would I recommend this Blueair 311 Auto? Absolutely 100%.  Summary: All in all, if you suffer from allergies/asthma like me, have animals, or simply a home without filtered air and are teetering on whether or not to purchase, go for it! You won't regret it! Personally, these air purifiers have honestly changed my life! I wish I would've found this company sooner! I HIGHLY recommend! If I must find something negative, I guess I would have to say their OEM filter replacements are pricey but this was not a deterrent for me.  And there were days when we could see the smoke inside the house, meaning we could see haze inside. My wife was coughing and sneezing. I ended up buying two of these units, one for each floor of our house during the day and used one in our bedroom during the night. The auto mode feature is pretty cool and the sensor is pretty sensitive

 I did test it out on a smoky day and it did detect poor air quality and upped the fan. Within 30 minutes it cleared out the air. Yes, these purifiers DO make a notable difference. They are not a gimmick

I'm in California and this past summer was bad in terms of wildfires and it's impact on our air quality. It's the first time where the smoke affected us INSIDE our house. It was so bad where we were that it was a thick fog of smoke at ground level for a week. We're working from home with kids and a dog

Purchased this air filter to install in a child’s bedroom. The low sound level and compact size make it great for smaller rooms.  Pros: - It’s A very quiet air filter even with the fan on full speed. - The Gray cover is great at hiding the dust that builds up between washings as the air filter is used

 As it senses changes in the air quality the fan will increase circulation and air filtration. - LED indicator will change as the sensors pick up changes in air quality.  Cons: - The Gray cover goes directly over the filter membrane. There is no plastic sub structure

 That means if it’s in a child’s room and child knocks something into it, it could dent or damage the filter itself resulting in the need for a replacement. - Without constantly referring to the manual it’s difficult to know what setting it’s on. This can be rather problematic if a child continues to cycle through the settings.  Would I recommend it to a friend: Yes

I keep it running 24/7 in a large bedroom, so energy use and noise are important

.I am a smoker and this thing would kick on if I was smoking in my bedroom ( I have it in the living room). BUT-it is loud and after I changed the filter the first time, it developed a chronic rattle as well. Now the filter has to be changed monthly, which gets expensive

Had a blue air pure 211+ and it was awful. It nearly killed me and two others in my family. Putting out toxic VOCs

Hi, I've seen nice and affordable Xiaomi air purifiers but they don't seem to be sold here in the US. I wonder if there are similar branches here, with similar price range and features.

All recent Xiaomi air purifiers have app and laser dust sensor. These two features seem to be very rare in the air purifiers sold in US. I'm not sure why, they seem like simple features to have.

The ones I'm using are very loud and don't seem to work for the room size they stated. I turn them on all day but dust is still everywhere in the air.

Please suggest some good air purifiers to buy in US, which have apps and laser sensors.

 Xiaomi was showing half the values of Philips at the beginning then settled to zero. I took a blanket and shook it well just between the devices. Philips went crazy to values over 200 but Xiaomi did not even budge!!! Overall, what is the purifier for if you do not know what the values are and whether it actually cleans the air. I would recommend to choose other device
