As someone who lives in the Bay Area (which gets smoked out on what seems like an annual basis during wildfire season), a good air purifier is absolutely critical. I own the Blue Air 211+ and highly recommend it. It also helps me with general seasonal allergies and I've found I sleep better and wake up feeling more refreshed with cleaner air.

I suffer from allergies on occasion and the dust in my room is definitely no help. I have only one window that i keep the A/C unit on so there is not much circulation in the room, but the purifier really helps to circulate the air and I know that I'm getting good air quality despite the lack of circulation in the room.

We have had several of these units in our house since 2017. I believe they do a decent job at filtering the air, and they are pretty quiet (although with age some of them become a bit noisier as the fan bearing wears -- but even these are not obnoxiously noisy). I do think this would work very well for people who simply want to keep allergens at bay or want to keep very light whiffs of smoke such as momentary barbecue smoke that comes in before you have a chance to go close the window. The noise level is good. It produces moderate white noise on its highest setting and is pretty quiet on its low and medium settings. I use it for my 700sqft apartment and it does a great job managing pet odor and does a great job filtering smoke and cooking odors when I’m searing meats. I recommend this highly for apartment life in general! I couldn't work with that noise for long periods - white noise from the air movement is great; this was just grating. Hey, Honeywell - here's a thought for you: spend just a little more on the motor & bearings you spec into this device and then actually put some effort into quality control. You were so close to a making a great product, but ruined it by penny pinching.
