My wife on the other hand, she is more sensitive with allergens such as dust and pollen and she felt the device had helped her greatly. Anyways, because of the unsual burning smell I returned it and order a different air purifier brand.

As someone who lives in the Bay Area (which gets smoked out on what seems like an annual basis during wildfire season), a good air purifier is absolutely critical. I own the Blue Air 211+ and highly recommend it. It also helps me with general seasonal allergies and I've found I sleep better and wake up feeling more refreshed with cleaner air.

My allergist's office has one of these in the waiting room, so I assume it does its job very well. The problem is getting it to do its job. Blueair, with this purifier, has gotten the hard stuff right and the easy stuff totally wrong. Set-up is a nightmare

I returned this and bought the Pro L instead. Fewer features but a lot more quiet and moves more air, that’s a win - win as far as I am concerned. Oh and since the Pro models are on now on sale it was cheaper too!!!

We have had several of these units in our house since 2017. I believe they do a decent job at filtering the air, and they are pretty quiet (although with age some of them become a bit noisier as the fan bearing wears -- but even these are not obnoxiously noisy). These units are new to the market so time will tell if Costco sells replacement filters. Blueair customer service is in America so the reps are knowledgeable and speak well enunciated, articulate English. Well worth the money.

I do think this would work very well for people who simply want to keep allergens at bay or want to keep very light whiffs of smoke such as momentary barbecue smoke that comes in before you have a chance to go close the window. It's very attractive, the outside filter is a knit fabric that is very easy to wash and high to dry while you use the second provided one, and it's so easy to operate. Just a light tap turns it on. We had no trouble setting it up and it is easy to operate. We generally keep it set on auto and it does its thing when I am cooking or something blows in from outside. Different color lights indicate air quality and we can see that it clears things out fairly quickly.

The noise level is good. It produces moderate white noise on its highest setting and is pretty quiet on its low and medium settings. I use it for my 700sqft apartment and it does a great job managing pet odor and does a great job filtering smoke and cooking odors when I’m searing meats. I recommend this highly for apartment life in general!
