 You know, boy, I wish the Rustler had a little more of that fall line carving ability of the Bonafide. Not even so much the edge grip, just the ability to kind of arc across the fall line at high speeds. The ski does it and it does a pretty good job of it, but you know, coming from my own background where I used to race a little bit, that's something I'd miss and I would definitely wish for a little bit more of that. But having said that, the Rustler is so much friendlier and more playful of a ski, more lively, lighter in actual weight and in spirit than this new direction of the Bonafide and Brahma

 I just don't think you're going to be as happy with all the edge grip of the Bonafide going forward into 2020 fall compared with the Rustler's very credible carving performance. It's not a carver, it's not its thing, but it does a good enough job to where I don't find myself constantly wishing for it. You know, if I could have everything and not compromise, yes, I would pick up a little more of the carving chops of the Bonafide, but the Rustler just makes me happy. So I remain a huge fan of the Rustler

 And we're going to wrap up our look at the Blizzard catalog with the Rustler 10.

 Rustler 10 returns unchanged for fall 2020, other than a graphics update, so that's the

The Ski Monster

 It also uses one thin sheet of metal which is different from past versions. They did do this a couple years ago but now they've changed it to a terrain specific metal. And what that means is the wider the ski gets the more specific the metal is. So you know with the narrower skis there's going to be a larger ratio of metal to wood in order to have that edge control and then as you get wider there's less metal to wood ratio in order to have that float that you need in more powder days

 You know it's an 88 waist width so it's going to be able to hit the woods, the bumps, carve, be on the mainly on-piece but you can go off-piece if you'd like. Ability wise you know a high intermediate to an advanced skier with that metal in there it's going to be a little bit more demanding but if you are an intermediate and you just really liked this ski maybe a shorter length would be better because it wouldn't be overpowering and you would be able to maneuver it but it is definitely geared towards that advanced lady that can power the ski under their foot and carve a turn from edge to edge.  In front of me I have Nordica Santa Anna 88 which is in their Santa Anna series. It's one up from their 84 and then there's a couple wider widths after this. Construction wise, like all the Santa Annas, it has a wood core with carbon into the construction that lightens it up and makes it very responsive. That carbon in there

 Also they've added their True Tip technology and what that does is it just reduces the weight in the tip of the skis which allows you to get into that turn and have an easier swing weight. It also is very responsive so if you're going to go over some crud it's going to absorb that feeling and take that away from your legs in the center of the ski and allow you to stay on edge. Another thing I really love about the Santa Annas is the shape of it. That shovel tip and a little bit of tail rocker allows you to be able to wiggle on the trees and the bumps if you'd like to but it also allows you to get on edge and hold that edge and that's what that metal does in the ski
