The Camox is a good ski but Black Crows are a bit overpriced for what they are if you're paying retail. Similar skis at a more affordable price range would be the Rossi Blackops 98, Liberty Origin 96, Fischer Ranger 94 FR, Salomon QST 98.

I have been skiing for around 6 years. I am male, 5’11” and 155 pounds. I spend most of my time hitting side jibs down trails and in the terrain park but I also really enjoy steep and fast technical terrain. I would consider myself a high intermediate to expert. I have gone on a two week back country skiing expedition and want a set up that is mostly used in resorts but has touring capabilities. 

I was looking at getting the Marker Duke Pt bindings on a pair of Black Crow Camox. I’m pretty stoked on the bindings because of how they are good alpine bindings with touring capabilities. I know they are heavier but I see it being a good soloution to what I want.  

What skis would you recommend. Are the Camox able to be used as touring skis effectively?? I know they are heavier in regards to touring but I really like the playfulness and twin tips and dimensions. What are your thoughts on these skis? Any other skis that fit what I want that you would recommend? I’ve been looking into Black Crowd because i think that they are a really cool brand. 

I would really appreciate any advice/thoughts. Thanks!

Advice for choosing an inbound ski set up with touring capabilities

 So it starts to get a bit warm out here, so the conditions have come in very varied at the moment, but this ski's been able to cope with everything so far and I've really been able to give it some, so mack it down the piece. And the ski's still able to keep its nice solid grip on the foot because you've got a nice solid wood core from Blackrose, that's what they believe in. They don't believe in putting pretty much anything else in the ski, that's what it relies on. And because it's nice and cambered on the foot, when you throw it onto its edge, it just holds that grip very, very nicely

 Blackrose Camox. So it starts to get a bit warm out here, so the conditions have come

 in very varied at the moment, but this ski's been able to cope with everything so far and

 I've really been able to give it some, so mack it down the piece. And the ski's still

 able to keep its nice solid grip on the foot because you've got a nice solid wood core

 from Blackrose, that's what they believe in. They don't believe in putting pretty much

 anything else in the ski, that's what it relies on. And because it's nice and cambered on

 the foot, when you throw it onto its edge, it just holds that grip very, very nicely.

 And it's the step-up, you could say, from the Cactus, the little brother in the range.

 But even though that's the case, the tips are milled out a bit more so it becomes softer

 so anyone who's working on their tail or nose presses, they're going to find it a lot easier

 to put the pressure down and just slide across the slope like that. It's a little bit wider

 underfoot than the Cactus, but that extra width helps you cope when you get throwing,

 going in between the tree lines, going off piste. Yeah, it's just one to go for.

 So great ski, very versatile shape. To take a look at weight, this is the 180.4 centimeter length and comes in just under 1900 grams. So you know pretty darn middle of the road and I think that's kind of a good way to think about the ski even though I feel like most people would perceive that as a negative

2023 Black Crows Camox - SkiEssentials.com Ski Test

 Hey skiers, I'm Jeff from SkiEssentials.com. Welcome to our 2023 ski test. Today we're

 talking about the Black Crows Kamex. Out of all the skis that Black Crows makes, this

 might be one of my personal favorites. I really like the way that this ski takes some freestyle

 influence and kind of applies it to what's more of just a versatile all-mountain ski.

 So it's kind of blurring the gap between a park ski and just a directional all-mountain

 ski, which I think is awesome and I think that's something that's actually really beneficial

 and really rewarding to a huge range of skiers, which we can kind of talk about towards the

 end of this video. Pretty simplistic build in this ski, so just a poplar wood core. There's

 some fiberglass in here too, epoxy, all that stuff that's normally in ski construction,

 sandwich construction. We get full vertical sidewall right underfoot here and then kind

 of a blend of cap construction but still a little bit of that vertical sidewall through

 the rest of the ski. So that's kind of allowing the tips and tails to be a little bit looser,

 a little bit more forgiving and keeping some strength right underfoot here. I think it's

 enough of a twin tip to call it a twin tip or enough tail rise rather to call it a twin

 tip. We've only got the single ski but you can still just see the amount of rise back

 here in the tail. It is lower rise in the tail than the tip but like I said I think

 still enough to consider it a twin tip. But totally a directional shape too. It's not

 like a symmetrical twin tip, it's not even close to symmetrical in the sense that equal

 amounts of tip and tail rocker. There is more tip rocker in this ski than tail rocker and

 also looking at the recommended mount point, we're not close to true center on this ski.

 You could go a little further forward from that if you wanted to but I would venture

 a guess that most people are sticking pretty close to the recommended line. So great ski,

 very versatile shape. To take a look at weight, this is the 180.4 centimeter length and comes

 in just under 1900 grams. So you know pretty darn middle of the road and I think that's

 kind of a good way to think about the ski even though I feel like most people would

 perceive that as a negative. To me it just is a testament to its versatility. You kind

 of see that in the flex pattern too. You know it's not the stiffest ski in the world but

 it's certainly stiffer than some like really soft flexing twin tips. So that's it, that's

 shape and construction. What's this ski best at? If you like Black Crows as a brand, if

 you're shopping among their skis and you want to retain at least a little bit of park

 or kind of freestyle mentality, this is a really good ski. It definitely feels more
