It comes with a turbo brush to tackle messes on fabric surfaces, and its default nozzle effectively works as a crevice tool. Performance on low-pile carpet is satisfactory since it clears pet hair and large debris without too much difficulty, but you may need to make another pass to fully clean fine material. Unfortunately, this vacuum feels cheaply built, and its filter assembly needs regular replacing, meaning recurring costs can add up over time. Still, it's one of the best handheld vacuums for cars that we've tested

It was so clogged that it shut down so it wouldn't burn out. Clean the filter monthly. Works like a champ now - my apologies to the Shark team.

The best test was on my car where the pet hair is really hard to remove and it had no issue removing the matted down dog hair. I also found it worked well on my dogs bed and the carpet on my cat tree. It lasted long enough for me to vacuum my dogs bed, cat tree and entire car so I would call that good battery life. My only complaint is that it does not get in small spaces

If you only need a cordless vacuum for spot-cleaning pet hair, the Shark ION W1 WANDVAC is a good choice. This compact vacuum does a fantastic job sucking up pet hair on bare floors and low and high-pile carpet. It also does a decent job cleaning pet hair from fabric-lined surfaces with its included upholstery tool, though suction performance drops noticeably as its small dustbin fills up.

However, it does have a much longer maximum battery life of nearly half an hour and a larger dustbin that shouldn't need emptying quite as often. It also has an adjustable suction power setting to increase its suction power. It's worth noting that running it continuously in its most potent 'Boost Mode' setting drops its runtime to a little over 10 minutes. It comes with a miniature turbo brush, and you can pull out its built-in suction nozzle to function as a short extension wand/crevice tool

To remove hair and pet fur from cloth and carpets, a more powerful vac with a beater brush is a better choice. For quick touch ups however, this works well enough. The motor is surprisingly powerful relative to the vac's size and more than up to the task of what this seems to be designed for. It does a decent job of picking up debris from car interiors but a more powerful vac will be required to thoroughly remove ground in debris

Also, it lacks a HEPA filter to trap allergens as you clean, and its plastic pre-filter and main filter need replacing quite frequently.

I also have to balance that with how much it will be used. I was willing to pay the $250 for the top of the line in this category (although I didn't want to pay that much), if it met certain criteria. Some of these criteria are not shared by everyone. I live in a smallish condo- I don't have tons of space for everything I could want and certainly not out on the counters

Both cords look like what used to come with Casio calculators and any Coleco handheld game in the 80's. Cheap looking, and flimsy, but they do the trick. +Everything sticks to the filter that is at the "core" of the dust bin, so you must pull the filthy lint from it with your fingers. Unique for a handheld vacuum of this type, it has an onboard HEPA filter that helps it trap fine particulates as you clean, which is great if you have allergies. Since the filter is washable and shouldn't need to be replaced as long as it's cleaned according to manufacturer recommendations, recurring costs aren't a major concern. It also feels well-built and has an easy-to-maintain design.

I bought this hand vacuum in December and it was a handy tool for me with two cats in the house. About a month ago, I charged it up as usual and now the speed is on super duper high on the lowest setting. It sounds like the battery is about to explode. I just want it to work! It was affordable but why should I have to buy a replacement within a year?

I would certainly get the LG over the WandVac. It has many advantages including a better filter setup, a larger bin, far better power numbers, a real cyclonic setup, and so forth. For example, the airflow at the head of the Shark is well below average and around a third of what it is on the LG. Most cordless vacuum cleaners can hang with corded machines in suction and airflow, but the Shark WandVac is definitely not one of those

I admit that I won't use valuable time to review those purchases/products that are what I call the "In Between Great & Horrible Products", meaning not great, but not horrible. That being said, in the short period I've had this hand vac I am extremely pleased. YOU GO BLACK & DECKER, FOR A JOB MORE THAN WELL DONE!!! First, I love the design of the hand vac over all, it stands very firmly on the end opposite of the handle while charging, or you could lay it down if need be, because there is no bulky cradle used for charging as many other hand vacs have. It's very light to hold and maneuver and feels natural to use (even for someone that has physical limitations or back, hip, shoulder problems such as myself with fibromyalgia, bursitis, si problems, advanced arthritis, and carpal tunnel), as well as how easy it is to use the 2 accessories

this is a handy vacuum, works efficiently, has good suction, and is very easy to use. The rose gold look also is impressive. Its ease of use works perfect especially since our toddler keeps making mess and we need to cleanup constantly.

You would likely be able to vacuum two (or maybe) more sets of stairs on one charge if you wanted to, even on high power. I think it has good suction and picks up a lot of dirt, dust, and cat hair with the pet bristles. It's easy to clean and care for, except after dumping the dirt/hair, you do need to clean off the filter to make it efficient for the next use, but that's typical for vacuums. The main problem I have with it is that it is not very ergonomic

This worked on small things I wanted to tidy up around the house, but the suction is not great and really didn't touch any pet hair from any surface I tried. I even took before/after pictures of my car, where the white Husky hair stands out against my charcoal grey upholstery, but the pictures looked identical. The attachments further reduce the suction. I was only able to work on my passenger seat (maybe 8 minutes run time) and the battery died

This dustbuster stayed charged for quite a few uses before I needed to charge it again. I like keeping this on hand for not just pet messes, but also small messes in the kitchen. I prefer the stronger setting, but like that there's a lower setting to help conserve the battery. Love the design, how easy it is to use, how lightweight it is and that it also perfroms well

I like the sleek design, which makes it easy to use for windowsills. It picks up dust and hair very well and compared to lots of other hand held vacuums had a pretty good suction. I just haven't found a lightweight hand held vacuum that gives super strong suction, including this one. I read lots of reviews and made quite a study of it

It has good suction power. The one negative I have is that it's super loud. Freaks our dog out even more than any other vacuum we've had in the past.

The only thing I would change would be to make it a little quieter, or adjusted to a lower 'pitch'. (tenitis).
