 I think the Mini-Grip really hits on both of those things. While it leans slightly more towards the "hard use" end of the pool, the Mini-Grip comes close to being a perfectly balanced EDC knife. If you're going to exceed the $50.00 range with one knife, I would recommend that it be this knife

 Super impressed. I guess what I'm saying is that even though fit and finish aren't perfect, you may be perfectly assured they'll make it right if you aren't happy. These people are serious about keeping customers, and I don't doubt this is part of that hefty initial price-tag.  Ease of Maintenance:  Another POTENTIAL problem area

 Put more plainly, it will hold a "utility edge" (can't shave with it but still quite useful) for a really, really long time. Easily a competitor to s30v.  Deployment Method: One-handed ambidextrous. Very old school, field-tested-and-approved thumb studs, both average in size and shape

 I won't wear this knife with suits or khaki pants because it will readily tear them up. Even my cargo shorts and jeans wear noticeably after clipping this knife quite a bit. Fantastic EDC but pocket shredder

 My pinkie is hanging off the back of the thing and so it doesn't really feel like its firmly in my hand. Came very sharp. As Far as the Axis lock goes I have a few knives by a Chinese maker that does it better in my opinion .(yes I know they stole it) Could just be that they fit my hand better

Wanted to love it

  The AXIS lock is very nice, and always feels secure with no movement of the blade. I've had frame and liner locked blades feel like they could move, especially if you opened the blade gently and did not get a firm *click* into place, and this is a very good solution with no drawbacks. I had never used one before this purchase, but it is the most quality locking mechanism I've ever felt and my favorite feature of the knife now.  The overall size is exactly what I wanted

 The grip also feels solid and quality, although some pictures seem "plasticy" in appearance. In my focused attempts at twisting or deforming it did not flex or yield in any way. It looks and feels like a quality piece of functional hardware. No frills or decorations, but strong and useful construction

 I work in an industrial plant and wanted a quality knife that I wouldn't be afraid to use when I need it. I have used it for shaving debris off of rollers, cutting various sized air hoses, plastic tie wraps, small cables, gasket materials, etc..

Great EDC choice

 Sometimes it's smooth sometimes its a bit rough. The blade shape is great, the thumb studs are okay although I prefer holes over studs, as far as studs go they are very functional. My main problem with the knife is the distance between the thumb ramp area on the spine and the finger choil. When I hold the knife I keep wanting to put my index finger on the base of the blade because the finger choil area on the handle is too low on the knife relative to the thumb ramp

It's alright. The materials and quality construction/fit and finish prompt me to give it four stars. If construction wasn't so great and all I had was the design to base my review on I would give it three stars.  The knife came fairly sharp, it shaves hair but can't whittle hair in the air

Solid knife

 My mini grip didn't come super hair shaving sharp out of the box like all my Spyderco knives but it was still better than my kershaw / cold steel knives brand new.  Honestly my only main gripe is how the knife feels in hand. It's not bad, but not comfortable for me. Keep in my mind this is just my opinion

 Their warranty is by far the best I've dealt with in a long time, no questions asked regarding my issue. They're also taking care of me and are sending out a free deep carry pocket clip on top of it (something anyone with a benchmade can request, there's a few other sweet models to choose from). With my main problem taken cared of and putting the knife through it's paces over the weekend I can safely say I love the thing already. The axis lock is nice when needing one handed operation

 I should note that the 2 Sanremu's are the same size as the Benchmade. Being a bigger guy, I need something with a little more heft.  I'm actually very disappointed right now. I really wanted to like the Benchmade, but when it seems like it's of lesser quality (build/tolerance, not blade steel quality) than the other 2, I can't do anything with it, other than return it and buy something else

 I've collected knives for nearly 40 years, and honestly can't believe the lack of quality in this knife. After seeing many posts in blade forums and Facebook groups, it seems that sadly, I'm not alone. Many others I've spoken with have gotten sub-par quality Griptillians. I can understand getting lesser quality when you buy the lower end knives from any manufacturer, but this is just unacceptable

I guess I'll be the first to give this knife a low rating.

Not much I can add to what others have said. Great size, durable and SHARP. The 154CM steel holds an edge for a good long time. Haven't had to try to resharpen yet so I can't say how that will go

  The axis lock isn't the strongest out there but I like how you can flick it open like a normal folder or just pull on the release and swing it open.  The one negative that I have with it is the price. Benchmade still uses 154cm on this model which is a decent steel but I feel as if they should offer a higher grade steel in 2016.

 Why are you not pushing this? Why are you not at the highest end of the high end? Why are you not mixing van acts with freaking meteorites from the sky, I'm there for your steel blend? Why are you not going at the the highest of high echelon? I don't it's not the case that our WL 34 has unique strengths or anything like that. It'S just it doesn't feel up to the price point. It'S a good performer, it's fine for EDC, but at 925 Bucks. Fine is not good enough! You need to be in the highest of AI n, so I really hope that they're looking at some really freaking exotic steel alloy here to try and earn that price point back because, right now our WL isn't really doing that trick again, it's well done

 I mean some people say that they've gotten cocky horsing around too much with conventional lines. But honestly and some people say it looks like a shopping spoon, but I think it's, the Norseman and honestly it's one of the most distinctive knife shapes on the market. If you show this to any high-end knife enthusiast there, there is no question whatsoever. What knife we're looking at here, even just the silhouette of it, is just like e/m, it's the Norseman, and so at some level

 You already reviewed the Norseman. What gives well, basically, my reason, my motivation for doing this is that the Norseman is actually a knife that has been sort of a standard on my channel. It'S been a knife, I've recommended over and over again the thing is my original Norseman was, I want to say, 496 um, and that was a very early model that was well. He was still in their garage um and then the the one I've owned most recently is this little guy right here

 Now this is a very, very high price. There are not that many knives in the production knife world because, let's be real here, this is a production knife, especially if they're not doing by his choice stuff. Very often this is a production knife through and through that is towards the very highest of high end of production knife early um, and it is not just a perfection price at which you have to be doing it. But it is a you need to be perfect and pushing every single boundary

The Grimsmo Norseman Pocketknife #3084: The Full Nick Shabazz Re-Review

 It looks like a chris reeve thumb. Stud that's been that the sharp tip has been cut off. Do you see there where a lot of people complain about the chris reeve tip, where you get some bends of thumb or whatever they've they've knocked that down and then even the milling sorry get it to focus. Do you see how this is like right here? It'S like stepped, it's like it's, not focusing really well there

 But honestly it it's been everything i've wanted in a knife. So - and it's made me not want to carry other knives that i own because of it. Um like this might be my next trying to decide if this - or this is going to be my next carry for a month, and i don't want to carry either of them. Honestly, i mean because this thing is: it's just such a great easy knife and tool

 It'S the same color as the hardware um, but so they're constantly uh tweaking and doing it's lock face he's working on a lock face, insert right now. Sorry, it escaped my mind. Grimsmo Norseman One Month EDC Review

The Grimsmo Norseman is ugly as hell and wayoverpriced.  Also, the drop shut guillotine action it has is because of its stupid platypus blade shape that puts a bunch of weight at the tip.  Why the hell would I want a frame lock that drops a heavy sharp ass blade right towards the lock mechanism?

We've all got them! Let's air some out. It might be some newbies introduction to that it's absolutely okay to think highly acclaimed or hyped up knives aren't so great, and it might be a good reminder for those of us who have been here for a while that taste isn't universal.

I'll do mine in order of how off the beaten path I think my disagreements are

1. Sometimes I like a knife that really can't be snapped open. A slow deliberate opening mechanism can be nice in an office environment. I still want one handed opening though. I'm not an animal
2. The fact that wood expands and contracts makes the Opinel an absolute nightmare and I hate the damn things
3. I want no part of most non-stainless steels. Maybe I'm just dumb, maybe I'm the sweatiest person alive, no matter what it is, they all rust and I gotta ram them into citrus fruits to slow it down by just forcing patinas on them
4. The Civivi Elementum is an absolute mess. It's heavy, the detent is so crispy that the flipper tab hurts, and HOLY LOCK BAR TENSION BATMAN. It also shares a problem with #5. Read on to find out what that problem is!
5. The RAT Model II is an ergonomic mess. Somehow, it feels both too small and like the tip is too far away from my hand. Before anyone says it feels too small in my hand because of how big my hands are, I wear a size S glove. I have no idea how the rest of you are holding yours, but it either feels cramped in a four finger grip, or like I reeeaaallly need to struggle to find somewhere to put my pinky. Add to that that the space from the blade to where I can feel safe putting my index finger is so large and it all just... Doesn't work good.
6. 3.5" is not a midsize folder. That's a large folder. 3" is a mid size folder. The ideal design to my mind is the Spyderco Native 5 LW. It makes good use of that lockbacks require a kick by turning that kick into a place to put your finger, thus giving you ample room to put your hand somewhere. My only frustration is that it doesn't feel super great in a pinch grip, but it works fine enough that it doesn't bother me. The Civivi Baby Banter is currently challenging the Native 5 LW for space in my heart thanks to how good it is in a pinch grip (it's almost like Ben Peterson holds his knives in some odd positions or something? Like he has some sort of "finger test"... It's hard to know for sure what that man values in a knife. All I know is I like a nice approachable color like blue and to be able to hold my knives a bunch of different ways, and the baby banter is stellar in those regards)

What are your major disagreements with the Internet Knife Community?

 I don't plan on chopping wood with a $900 knife, but under extreme circumstances, it will hold up to the beating.

What's the best US made knife for the money? I recently got some US made Kershaws and they seem pretty high quality for as low as the price was.

 I like the tanto blade. The D2 steel is good for holding an edge. The handles are very comfortable in the hand. I like the deep pocket clip

 It has a nice weight to it, sharp blade that seems to be holding its edge and fits nicely in my pocket. It is bigger than my last edc knife but I can’t even tell. Will be buying more of this brand.
