Benchmade Freek vs Svord peasant blade

If you want something that can take a beating none of these knives will do the job. I could however recommend the Benchmade freek in M4. It's a great knife, super tough and still very lightweight.

I could see it as a neck knife with a clip on the lanyard small enough to fit the hole in the tang. 3. It's durable. The simple mechanism and extra length of the tang should allow it to withstand some beating without complaint

This pin was not present on the knife I ordered. This meant there was nothing stopping the blade from going too far backwards except the tension on the screws. The problem is, if you set them tight enough to stop the blade from going backwards, it's very difficult to open. The blade isn't strong at all. Came with a chip in the edge, and varies between having a sharp and a dull edge. For the wood the finish although it's suppose to be "rustic" was really poorly done with gouges and an unfinished side. And the screws/posts didn't fit into the wood well at all

. benchmade have to do something other than the run of the mill s30v, right? The biggest complaint is pricing, with the regular freek going at 120 ish I see no reason for this one to hit 200 - that's too much, s30v is perfectly fine, the only thing they need to replace is the original freek rubber-ish handle with FRN and be done with it. By the way, if you have a smaller hand or want the mini grip size knife, wait for it, I bet the mini version will come later this year

Love the Svord! Such an awesome knife for a great price. I think I got my full size and mini for $10-$12 each.

I really leave a good blade on my knife, but this being said, I much more love a comfortable handle with little to no hotspots on it. The more it fills my hand, the better. I don't really use gloves, so this is an important aspect for me.

The handle is rough but the blade seems pretty good. It is bigger than you would think but not in a good way.

Perhaps it’s oriented slightly more towards the lightweight camping and hunting ground. Benchmade doesn’t offer much insight in their product descriptions, but for some reason I keep going back to hunting when I consider the Freek.

When the knife arrived it felt very light, not a good light but cheap, knife people know what I mean. The handles are very very misaligned and is covered in splinters. Sanding doesn’t help as it’s made of like a weird plywood looking material. Most certainly not the knife I was excited to receive
