I have to say, i expected the blades to be sharper and stay sharper for longer. Maybe these are better used for strictly skinning an animal rather than actually cutting through an animals hide. We will see if it works better next time i skin an animal and put the knife to the test in that way.

Handles well, this knife is awesome especially for my sheep and mule deer prairie hunts where I carry a lot of gear. I didn't know if i'd like the orange but it's great, you never have to look for it. Great purchase

PROS: Light weight Lock back design Easy/safe blade swaps Compact/easy to carry Cuts extremely well (on game/fish) Looks cool CONS: Not made for left handers Half the blade is useless Basically an expensive scalpel handle Hard to clean Overall, you could save your money and buy a #13 scalpel handle and some 60a blades. It would do basically the same amount of work. But this thing is pretty handy and convenient to have in your hunting bag.

I have been using my KOA D2 elk hunter for the past ten years. It's a great knife, but at the end of last season I decided to start looking at some of the higher end steels. I am on a bit of a quest to find a knife that will remain sufficiently sharp through an entire elk. I have several benchmade pocket knives and I really like them so I decided to try a couple of their hunting knives to see how I like their design/feel and to test the edge holding retention on elk hide

This is the 2nd one I have had (lost the first one that I had for a few years). The 2nd one I had for just over a month and the little piece that hold the blade broke. Amazon says the return window has closed.

This is a spendy knife but it is well worth the price. I purchased the firstlite edition knife because it is $30 cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else at the moment.

The whole knife is around 4 1/4 inch folded but the full usable blade is only 1.36 inch. Absolutely tiny! It is stiff to open and auto closes meaning it is difficult to both open with one hand and close with one hand safely. Its also made from plastic, thin plastic at that! It is reinforced but I don't think that makes up for the price or the strength though I guess you won't be putting too much pressure on such a thin blade but still

But for those looking for a tough fixed blade that weighs scant ounces for hunting, this one should be high on the list.

Suuuuuuuuper light weight! Super sharp/thin blades. Only downsides are; be careful opening this with one hand - it’s easy to cut yourself. And I wish this didn’t have a pocket clip and just came in a small light case that had a pocket for the extra blades.
