Benchmade 15200 Altitude. You might have to shop around to find one at your price, but they can be found. Amazing little fixed blade that is great at holding an edge

So I have 170$ to spend but don’t know what to get, any suggestions?( not brands but actual knives, I’m between spiderco and benchmade)

Handles well, this knife is awesome especially for my sheep and mule deer prairie hunts where I carry a lot of gear. I didn't know if i'd like the orange but it's great, you never have to look for it. Great purchase

Sharp and light!

 Generally I will need to change knives or touch up my edge about half way through an elk. Don't get me wrong, my edges aren't totally dulled out, but they certainly aren't as sharp as when I started. I have been using my KOA D2 elk hunter for the past ten years. It's a great knife, but at the end of last season I decided to start looking at some of the higher end steels

I have several benchmade pocket knives and I really like them so I decided to try a couple of their hunting knives to see how I like their design/feel and to test the edge holding retention on elk hide

 I've heard so many knife reviews about how people have dressed out numerous deer in a single season and their edges were still hair popping sharp. I now have one of their hunters in S30V and this knife in S90V. Supposedly they both hold their edges very well but I have to try it for myself

Small and extremely Sharp

This is a spendy knife but it is well worth the price. I purchased the firstlite edition knife because it is $30 cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else at the moment.

Awesome Knife

 If you are old or arthritic your hands may not have the strength to press the lever all the way down and hold it while removing the blade. Then repeat the process again to put in another blade. Quite painful for me. I can get it done but it takes too much effort

My only complaint is that it takes great effort to push the lever down to change the ...

 The sheath has plastic dividers to hold the 3 extra blades individualy so there is no rattling and the blade edges don't get damaged. I don't typically carry this on my belt when I'm hunting as it is a bit bulky and heavy. I usually have it in the rear pocket of my vest or in my daypack depending on what I'm wearing. I ordered the gut hook blade from Case for $10

 All of the blades fit nice and snug, open smoothly and lock up tight. There is no play or wobble. Note that the filet/utility blade has no nail slot so it takes a bit of extra care to open/close that blade without cutting a finger. The sheath has the same high quality as the knife so there was no skimping here

  The one thing that puzzles me is why Case chooses to sell these in two different 4 blade configurations. One with the filet blade (actually labeled Utility) and one with the gut hook. I wish that they would just sell them in a 5 blade set and let the consumer pick the 3 blades that they want to carry in the sheath. Just add a few dollars to the price

 The fit and finish is perfect. The blades were shaving sharp out of the box and easy to change. All of the blades fit nice and snug, open smoothly and lock up tight. There is no play or wobble

A great knife.  This is my second one.

 I also wish the leather was of a heavier weight, to accommodate this heavy knife with its extra blades.
