It’s sharp out of the box, good hand feel and well balanced. Blade holds its edge well. I even dropped it on a concrete floor and it barely nicked the blade. Quick stone buff it it was like new

Handles well, this knife is awesome especially for my sheep and mule deer prairie hunts where I carry a lot of gear. I didn't know if i'd like the orange but it's great, you never have to look for it. Great purchase

The reason for 4 stars is the balance is way off for me! The balance is almost at the middle pin rather than the first pin making it really handle heavy. A knife made this well would be an easy 5 stars if the balance wasn't so handle heavy. For the price, it's a really nice knife!

I have been using my KOA D2 elk hunter for the past ten years. It's a great knife, but at the end of last season I decided to start looking at some of the higher end steels. I am on a bit of a quest to find a knife that will remain sufficiently sharp through an entire elk. I have several benchmade pocket knives and I really like them so I decided to try a couple of their hunting knives to see how I like their design/feel and to test the edge holding retention on elk hide

The knife and sheath are great looking and high quality. Knife was sharp out of the box and looks great. The issue is , this was purchased to carry every day. Unfortunately the knife , when cared in the horizontal position, falls out regularly

This is a spendy knife but it is well worth the price. I purchased the firstlite edition knife because it is $30 cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else at the moment.

The sheath is cheaply made and more could have been put into it I am having to get another sheath made in order to support the knife. On a hunt the other day the knife fell out while I was walking. If I had not have heard it hit my “boot” I would have lost the knife just a week after having it. The knife itself is a great value though and well-made for its purpose

But for those looking for a tough fixed blade that weighs scant ounces for hunting, this one should be high on the list.

First I want to start off by saying that this is a very beautiful designed knife. I really love the weight of the knife and it also has a good balance to it. It was delivered on time and sharp as hell! I really wasn’t sure if the knife would fit my hand or not when I ordered it because I have massive hands but it fits very comfortably and I have no worries with cutting myself from my hand slipping. The knotches on the top side of the blade really makes this knife stand out but are very useful for grip if you have to really get down on something to cut it
