Benchmade 15200 Altitude. You might have to shop around to find one at your price, but they can be found. Amazing little fixed blade that is great at holding an edge

Don't get me wrong, my edges aren't totally dulled out, but they certainly aren't as sharp as when I started. I have been using my KOA D2 elk hunter for the past ten years. Small and extremely Sharp

This is a spendy knife but it is well worth the price. I purchased the firstlite edition knife because it is $30 cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else at the moment.

  With S90V steel and a stripped-down design, the Benchmade Altitude packs a ton of cutting prowess into a superlight package.

But for those looking for a tough fixed blade that weighs scant ounces for hunting, this one should be high on the list.

I personally like small knives like this for processing game in the field. Not only are they easier to control, but they also are less likely to cut a buddy who gets their hands in the wrong places while you’re working.

 IT was tight day 1, but day 2 it started to loosen and day 3 the knife was prone to falling out if I bent over or got on the ground. I nearly lost it a couple of times while working. I tried soaking and baking (not realizing it was wrapped in a vinyl skin) and it tightened and hardened a bit, but loosened back up too soon enough. I ended up tightening up the sheath by putting a wire braid at the top to pinch it shut a little more

Lets start with the good! This is an very good knife, especially for the price. It is real Damascus. It takes a razor edge and holds up well enough. The steels used aren't known for being the end all best at holding a blade, but I sharpen regularly regardless so this is no concern to me

Great knife, sad sheath

 The company claims their knives have an HRC of 58-60 giving this blade the the toughness one needs in the field. I am currently adding to my knife collection and am specifically interested in two other offerings from BucknBear. I am certain I will have both before too long.
