Benchmade 15200 Altitude. You might have to shop around to find one at your price, but they can be found. Amazing little fixed blade that is great at holding an edge

Handles well, this knife is awesome especially for my sheep and mule deer prairie hunts where I carry a lot of gear. I didn't know if i'd like the orange but it's great, you never have to look for it. Great purchase

 Generally I will need to change knives or touch up my edge about half way through an elk. Don't get me wrong, my edges aren't totally dulled out, but they certainly aren't as sharp as when I started. I have been using my KOA D2 elk hunter for the past ten years. I have several benchmade pocket knives and I really like them so I decided to try a couple of their hunting knives to see how I like their design/feel and to test the edge holding retention on elk hide

Small and extremely Sharp

This is a spendy knife but it is well worth the price. I purchased the firstlite edition knife because it is $30 cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else at the moment.

Benchmade Does It Again.

  With S90V steel and a stripped-down design, the Benchmade Altitude packs a ton of cutting prowess into a superlight package.

But for those looking for a tough fixed blade that weighs scant ounces for hunting, this one should be high on the list.

I personally like small knives like this for processing game in the field. Not only are they easier to control, but they also are less likely to cut a buddy who gets their hands in the wrong places while you’re working.
