 Spyderco have just have that there's something special about this particular knife above and beyond. Maybe some of the other ones - and I don't know for sure you know I'm not that not really into that much, but I trust Brian there's something about it. You know. Sometimes they just get things right, and things are just done perfectly well or close enough to perfect that they they just give you the fizz and you just enjoy them right

Why I'm Switching My Pocket Knife

Benchmade 940 in S90V and carbon fiber. My dad's gift to me for getting through highschool. Take that that thing everywhere, only had to sharpen it once. 

What is your absolute favorite knife.? You love it with both your heart and soul.

TLDR: It feels great, I LOVE the weight and looks of carbon fiber but doesn't seem like its a good value.  I'm not a knife enthusiast or a collector, but I wanted something I could carry and forget its in my pocket for everyday tasks. I like premium products like carbon fiber and the idea behind S90v being a steel that keeps its "working edge" for longer periods of time. Overall I can't say i'm crazy about the product for the price

  - Finish of the blade has such a machined look with thin parallel lines vertically across the entire blade. I don't know if that intended but for cost of the blade it just doesn't look like a premium product.  - The blade when closed it is not centered, and I think it may touch the inside of the carbon fiber on the clip side as the deployment in my right hand is slower then when I deploy it in my left hand and i'm right handed. The bevel on the knife is larger on the face then it is on the back side, this maybe intended i'm not sure but I can image this causing some issues while sharpening the blade

I wanted to love this knife.

 This is no big deal because benchmade stands by their products, but now I have to send it back because I paid too much for these issues to exist. Really do love the fit and finish of the carbon fiber scales though. The light weight of such a nice sized knife is incredible as well. It feels like I am carrying my much smaller BM Sequel

. Benchmade replaced the blade on my knife after a few weeks. It is excellent now. Super sharp and centered

 For the size, this is easily the lightest knife I've ever encountered. Ultra-lightweight, travels well, pocket clip allows for a reasonably deep pocket carry, and blade length is legal in my state. It looks and feels pretty durable, the open back design makes it a breeze to clean, and it's classy enough that this knife straddles the "gentleman's knife" category. Those who are knowledgable about knives and/or read on any of the knife forums will understand what I mean when I say that this is a perfectly good choice for a "grail knife

 The blade has a beautiful stonewashed finish that looks great with the carbon fiber - better IMO than a regular stainless finish would look, and it showcases the fine grain of the (very carbide-heavy) steel along the edges.  This blade is everything that I look for in an EDC. For the size, this is easily the lightest knife I've ever encountered.  I'll post a follow-up after I've sharpened the S90V blade freehand... from what I've read, it's a PITA to sharpen

 The AXIS-lock system is buttery smooth after working it in a bit, and the blade has a rock solid lock-up. The carbon fiber scales are almost holographic, in that they change appearance depending on your viewing angle - very cool! The blade is S90V, which should take on a keenness, and hold an edge, as good as (or better than) anything else out there. The blade has a beautiful stonewashed finish that looks great with the carbon fiber - better IMO than a regular stainless finish would look, and it showcases the fine grain of the (very carbide-heavy) steel along the edges.  This blade is everything that I look for in an EDC

"  My one gripe follows: This knife comes in a standard Benchmade blue box, upon which is printed "Handle with care. Benchmade knives are packaged extremely sharp." This was not the case for me, as the knife arrived with an edge somewhere between a butter knife and an old Buck 110 that I haven't sharpened in a couple years. I've read that this is a common complaint with Benchmade knives, so I don't feel that I got a "bad one" or anything

 I tend to think that Leatherman wood saws are just a touch better because the the profile, the angle on the teeth is a little bit more conducive. It just doesn't catch as much. But that's not saying anything bad about Victorinox saws because they make really, really excellent saws in their own right. And then we have the knife blade

 So this is a fairly decent tool set that comes with this particular knife, but I think that I would replace one tool on here and that's going to go back to those scissors. Well now we come back to the scissors on this particular multi-tool And granted, now this is all opinion based, but it's It's my personal belief and a lot of people that I've talked to over the years have really convinced me of this that the scissors may not be the best option in this particular tool. Granted, I do very much like the Victorinox scissors that they put on a lot of different models of tools, but I think this particular one because it's supposed to be more geared towards the outdoorsman, would be better suited if they replace the scissors with a file. and again having conversations with a lot of people over the years that have convinced me that in an outdoorsman's tool, that a file is one of those necessary tools

 every single model should come with the pen and pin and every model with a corkscrew should also include the eyeglass screwdriver. i don't understand not including all the tools possible. please start including them, victorinox.

 1. no locking blade. this might sound counter-intuitive, but i want my kids to learn to use a knife correctly without the false sense of security provided by a lock that can fail. if they learn on a knife without a lock, they will learn to use a knife carefully and correctly

  It is rugged and takes a lot of punishment for some of the jobs it is called upon to do.  The blades hold an edge.  The scissors are sharp and the spring action is a huge plus.  The can opener really works

 It's also got a three or four millimeters flat head screwdriver blade there, and that also works as a Phillips screwdriver, so quite a practical combination tool there. On this side, we have a flat head. This slip joint works really well. you can hear how it holds into place

 This is probably the least useful tool that Victorinox do, in my view. I'm never that desperate for a toothpick, seems to be a little bit of a waste of an opportunity, but I'm not alone in that thinking. And as I've shown before in the review of the compact knife which I will link to at the end of this video, if you wanted to watch that, you can buy this Ferro rod and replace the toothpick, which is something that is much more practical, particularly in this knife, which is really suitable for outdoors. I'd much rather have a fairer rod in here than a toothpick

 The functionality is spot on for outdoor. The weight is about right and the size and you have the ability to put in the tinder and the ferro rod. It is a brilliant knife for outdoors. Well, I hope that review has been useful

 In addition, we also have a small blade. Now, some people wonder why you would need two blades and people use it in different ways. Some people use it for fine work because it's a little bit easier to control. Some people use it for general use, open in packaging, and generally you can keep the main blade for more heavy duty tasks and some people don't touch it at all unless it's really needed on the basis that if it's not used much, it's kind of saved for emergencies and stays super razor sharp
