The portion of the blade that cut me, on both occasions, was the portion of the shorter chisel edge that meets the spine. The blade is sharp, there is no doubt about that. I'm not sure if it's the shape & size of my hands (wide palms with long fingers; my hands are truly larger than most, I wear a Men's glove size 2XL), or if it's how I'm forced to hold the knife with my large hands. But I do know that while I really like the design of this knife, I'll probably never get to find out how long either edge will last -- the risks for using this knife, for me, outweigh the benefits, especially when there are plenty of other knives to choose from

Benchmade 940 in S90V and carbon fiber. My dad's gift to me for getting through highschool. Take that that thing everywhere, only had to sharpen it once.

This one looks like it will work just fine. It is very sturdy, much more so that a typical picket knife. That is appropriate for my intended use. It looks very strong

TLDR: It feels great, I LOVE the weight and looks of carbon fiber but doesn't seem like its a good value. I'm not a knife enthusiast or a collector, but I wanted something I could carry and forget its in my pocket for everyday tasks. I like premium products like carbon fiber and the idea behind S90v being a steel that keeps its "working edge" for longer periods of time. Overall I can't say i'm crazy about the product for the price

This is no big deal because benchmade stands by their products, but now I have to send it back because I paid too much for these issues to exist. Really do love the fit and finish of the carbon fiber scales though. The light weight of such a nice sized knife is incredible as well. It feels like I am carrying my much smaller BM Sequel

If i were to do it over again I would have bought the slightly larger model. The handles are ok. I would prefer to see g10 or micarta, but that would undoubtedly raise the price point. It does not hold an edge very well however anyone with rudimentary sharpening skills will have no problem maintaining an edge

For the size, this is easily the lightest knife I've ever encountered. Ultra-lightweight, travels well, pocket clip allows for a reasonably deep pocket carry, and blade length is legal in my state. It looks and feels pretty durable, the open back design makes it a breeze to clean, and it's classy enough that this knife straddles the "gentleman's knife" category. Those who are knowledgable about knives and/or read on any of the knife forums will understand what I mean when I say that this is a perfectly good choice for a "grail knife
