1zpresso JX-PRO vs Baratza Encore Coffee Grinder

I am having quite a hard time finding a good Kettle to buy. Seems like the consensus in this sub is Bonavita Variable temp control but it's sold out everywhere can't seem to get it..

- Temp-controlled electric kettle. Not a gooseneck, but I get around that by transferring the right volume of water to a small gooseneck measuring cup thing. Works for now.

For almost the exact same drawdown times (3:05ish on the encore 3:00ish on the jx) the clarity and separation of flavors was much more pronounced on the jx pro. Additionally, the encore's brew had almost a bitter aftertaste that was not present at all on the jx pro brew - this was really noticeable to me and. I did expect the jx pro to be better, but it exceeded my expectations, and I think its reasonable to assume that the regular Jx (which is actually the same price as the encore) would perform similarly for v60.

If you don’t need a grinder for travel, I would highly recommend “buy once , cry once” on a good electric. You are looking at close to $200 US for the grinder and single dose hopper (not necessary, but I love having it, it also quiets the action).

The purchase through Whole latte love was smooth and easy. Great website design, prompt communication, and quick processing to get my package out the door. I love the usability of the BARATZAgear Single Dose Hopper as well.

The mechanical action is very satisfying as it crunches through the beans. It's also nice not to have electrical appliance noise at 5 AM. I have not taken it apart for cleaning and frankly don't intend to. I figure if you're grinding a few times a day, every day, then it should be keeping fresh grinds in the gears as you go

We've had to work through a few challenges to get the grinder to work in a practical way for us, but overall it's been ok. I don't taste a noticeable difference in flavor between freshly ground and the bags we would pre-grind at Costco. Things to consider: *Every time you grind beans, you will have grinds that go everywhere- as you pour them into your coffee maker and as you put the bin back in place. It's extremely messy
