What is so great about this mat is the thickness. I recently started yoga again and I am 63. My wood floors are too hard and most mats are too thin. This mat thankfully has enough cushion so I do not feel the hard floor while exercising

Very comforatable mat

 It's actually really comfortable for laying on my back to do my physical therapy on my entire hip/pelvis area that gets so sore so easily, so much better than traditional exercise mats! It has good give and is just exactly what I was hoping for in a comfortable exercise mat! plus the purple is such a pretty color and makes me feel happy to see in my house.  You can't really fold it but you can roll it back up into it's original size quite easily and the carrying velcro strap works well on repeated use ;) It's not hard to roll it back up small enough to fit in the velcro.  Hopefully these pictures help give you an idea! I love this mat a lot and don't care if it rips a little easily.

I got this mat for doing my physical therapy exercises on my hardwood floor and have used it about maybe 6 or 7 times so far, a few on a carpet when I took it on vacation to a home with carpets, and rolled it back up like 3 or 4 times. When rolling it up while wearing a bracelet I've damaged the bottom side by the material getting caught in a few places on my bracelet, but when you stand on it in hiking boots it just leaves a mild, temporary indentation, which I've photographed but then goes away. It doesn't damage it to wear shoes on it as long as you're reasonably careful - I have major foot issues and need to wear my shoes all the time to prevent much worse chronic foot pain, and it's not been a problem to use my shoes in my physical therapy exercises like lying on my back with my knees up and my feet flat on the matt.  The only thing that won't go away is if you rip/tear the material, and I do tend to be hard on my stuff so mine has a number of small rips in it now because of things like the bracelet and not being careful enough with it
