 It literally flies. At assist level 3 it devours any incline. It can easily cruise at 20-25 miles an hour in town traffic. I normally stay in off or level 1 and sometimes 2

 It will do 20 miles an hour on level ground using the throttle control only and no pedaling…nice.  Here is the lowdown on the kit and what you need to add this to your Catrike Order this 1000W Bafang Kit with the 48V/17AH, 46T chainwheel, headlight, and 850C computer console. Do not go with a smaller chainwheel as this motor has way too much power and you do not need the extra gearing. Then contact them and ask them to add in:  a speed sensor extension cable (so that it will reach the wheel)  two brake lever sensors (so you can retain your Avid levers which has the brake locks)  the gear sensor (so that it knows to cut power when you shift)  the installation wrench to install the crankset-motor  Other parts you will need from other vendors (do a web search):  Catrike Battery Mount so you can attach battery to your frame  Bafang Console and Throttle mount to mount the 850C computer console and thumb throttle (no where else to mount them so you need this)  UTcustom torque arm (this is optional but the motor produces so much torque, it’s better to be safe, then sorry)  2 each 6mm x 45mm x 10mm socket head bolts with washers (to replace the QR levers on the Catrike if you have them

 I wanted my daughter to ride with me so I purchased a stock Catrike Villager with the intent of adding a motor to it. After much online research, I opted to buy this kit. Installation took 3 days as I took my time but everything was really basic. End result: Add a 1000 watt motor to a lightweight Catrike and this tadpole is a monster

 Oh, battery charger they give you is very basic, add another one that stops at an 80% charge for better battery life.  Overall, what I paid for this was very overpriced. With much work, the kit works well, but I did have to buy a good amount of extra pieces. I don't think this should be required for a $1300+ kit

 Again, no mention of this in the non-existent instructions. Plan on spending several hundred dollars extra on parts not included and $500 for a better battery. So you are buying a bundle of parts put together by the seller. So the question is, did you get all the parts you need and are they of good quality? First, no instructions were included, they did give you some QR codes so you can watch third-party installation videos. This is not a great solution as some of the videos are not great.  As for parts, most were fine quality, but nothing special

 Also, having gone down from a 52 V eight amp hour battery to a 48 V 13 amp hour battery the computer and display screen thing has settings to alternate voltage I have set the settings for the voltage back down to 48 V but the system seems to think it’s still at 52 which drains my battery more than it should. I have reset it multiple times and even forced shut down the system but I cannot seem to get it to realize that it is 48 V I hope that this can be resolved soon. The computer I chose to get was the 500c display.

 on Dual Sports the higher the number the better. And on the Dual Sport 2 you get a neat thing with the front suspension where it has a lockout. and what a lockout does is, it effectively locks out the suspension so it's not compressing. So if you're going out on one of those fitness rides and really wrenching against the bike, it's pretty cool because it's able to lock the front end out, make sure everything's as efficient as possible, and then you can open that lever back up to have your full compression and comfort

 essentially what we're running here is a two by nine drivetrain from Shimano and so up front you've got two rings, which is a high in a low position, so the larger the ring the faster you're going to go. Lower position is better for going up on climbs and then looking out back is going to be a Shimano Altus rear derailleur operating a Shimano 11 to 36 tooth cassette. Now the neat thing here is the front is going to be a 46 30 gear ratio and in back it's 11 36. Which means that the gear ratio on this is lower than a one to one, which is sort of the gold standard for being able to get up a climb

 Now, the positioning of the bike is very similar to mountain bike. However, because it's still running a road bike diameter wheel and it's still setting you up in a efficient position, this is going to ride in a much lower amount of resistance than a traditional mountain bike would on say, a road or a paved surface. And so that's where the magic comes in here. This particular bike is definitely a good choice for people who are thinking of, you know, what's the one bike that can do it all

 You're going to have a standard 27.2 seat post with a clamp making it nice and theft resistant but also hold in place. And then as we go to the back of the bike you'll have neat things like a spot for a duo trap which is a sensor that you can add to measure speed and cadence how fast you're pedaling. It's also got a rear mount kickstand spot which is helpful in case you run a rack on the bike

One Bike That Can Actually Do It All? | 2022 Trek Dual Sport 2 Review

Kids have outgrown their bikes so we scrambled to buy new ones as we handed down our bikes to them. With the help of the staff at Trek, I was able to procure this bike in less than a month!  Seat is very comfortable along with the ergonomic handlebars. This is my first hybrid bike - always had mtn bikes. The ease of speed is exhilarating!  Changing gears is very easy

 I'm 5'5" and based on sizing chart I could've gone small or medium so sized up to medium. The bar on the medium is straight and doesn't dip. It's a little high for me so wished I'd gone with small instead but it wasn't available.

2 millimeter seat post, so that's 27.2 millimeters in diameter. It's two bolts adjustable so you can get that angle dialed in just right. And a nice feature that I like to see is it's a bolt-on clamp so you can see that's operated with a four millimeter Allen key to open it up, allow the adjustment up and down and I like that over a quick release because if you get this locked up outside of the coffee shop or take it into town, leave it on the back of your car

 Now, this particular bike is outfitted with their gold alpha aluminum, which means this is a shaped and butted tubing frame. It runs internal cable routing so it's pretty sleek. You don't see things coming off and part of the reason you want that is say putting it on a car rack or locking it to something. You don't have cables in the way because as these cables come through they all dial right into the frame

 This is the Nex fork with 63 millimeters of suspension travel, so by 63 millimeters, we're talking this distance here. and then it makes it even more interesting because you do have an integrated lockout so that Sr. Suntour calls this the speed lock and basically you can have it all the way open which will allow the front end to compress, absorb bumps and keep it more comfortable and then you can lock it down. If you're trying to be efficient, get the best workout and you don't want the front end of the bike bouncing around so all those things dial together and then they add in a fair bit of tire clearance
