 It literally flies. At assist level 3 it devours any incline. It can easily cruise at 20-25 miles an hour in town traffic. I normally stay in off or level 1 and sometimes 2

 It will do 20 miles an hour on level ground using the throttle control only and no pedaling…nice.  Here is the lowdown on the kit and what you need to add this to your Catrike Order this 1000W Bafang Kit with the 48V/17AH, 46T chainwheel, headlight, and 850C computer console. Do not go with a smaller chainwheel as this motor has way too much power and you do not need the extra gearing. Then contact them and ask them to add in:  a speed sensor extension cable (so that it will reach the wheel)  two brake lever sensors (so you can retain your Avid levers which has the brake locks)  the gear sensor (so that it knows to cut power when you shift)  the installation wrench to install the crankset-motor  Other parts you will need from other vendors (do a web search):  Catrike Battery Mount so you can attach battery to your frame  Bafang Console and Throttle mount to mount the 850C computer console and thumb throttle (no where else to mount them so you need this)  UTcustom torque arm (this is optional but the motor produces so much torque, it’s better to be safe, then sorry)  2 each 6mm x 45mm x 10mm socket head bolts with washers (to replace the QR levers on the Catrike if you have them

 I wanted my daughter to ride with me so I purchased a stock Catrike Villager with the intent of adding a motor to it. After much online research, I opted to buy this kit. Installation took 3 days as I took my time but everything was really basic. End result: Add a 1000 watt motor to a lightweight Catrike and this tadpole is a monster

 Oh, battery charger they give you is very basic, add another one that stops at an 80% charge for better battery life.  Overall, what I paid for this was very overpriced. With much work, the kit works well, but I did have to buy a good amount of extra pieces. I don't think this should be required for a $1300+ kit

 Again, no mention of this in the non-existent instructions. Plan on spending several hundred dollars extra on parts not included and $500 for a better battery. So you are buying a bundle of parts put together by the seller. So the question is, did you get all the parts you need and are they of good quality? First, no instructions were included, they did give you some QR codes so you can watch third-party installation videos. This is not a great solution as some of the videos are not great.  As for parts, most were fine quality, but nothing special

 Also, having gone down from a 52 V eight amp hour battery to a 48 V 13 amp hour battery the computer and display screen thing has settings to alternate voltage I have set the settings for the voltage back down to 48 V but the system seems to think it’s still at 52 which drains my battery more than it should. I have reset it multiple times and even forced shut down the system but I cannot seem to get it to realize that it is 48 V I hope that this can be resolved soon. The computer I chose to get was the 500c display.

 Well, that was just the start. I then trained, rode, worked out, and did a 75-mile charity ride/race. 

I do not recommend you looking for a new bike within that budget. Bikes depreciate rapidly, and you should take advantage of that. Bicycle Blue Book is not a great website from a seller's perspective on bike pricing since it gives very low ball figures, but from a buyer's perspective the pricing of the bikes are numbers you want to hit. I recommend you start with endurance geometry bikes like the Giant Defy, Specialized Roubaix, Trek Domane, Cannondale Synapse, and Fuji Sportif

 Easily 2016+ but it may be completely unnecessary depending on your needs and desires. If I were you, I would stick to sub $500 and ride the heck out of the bike. If you can prove to yourself that you are riding frequently and competing, then looking at higher budgets might make sense for some carbon wheels or another bike.

Look into a 54 cm frame specifically for your height. For $300-$500, ideally look into aluminum road bikes with carbon forks, shimano 105 and ultegra drivetrains, rim brakes, included clipless pedals/lights/bottle cages are a plus. Just be aware that at your budget, disc brake bikes will be have elephant weights over 22 lb and most certainly cable-actuated anyway.  You are most likely looking at 2015 and older bikes, but these road bikes can be just as fast and fun

cheap / budget road bike for commute (10 miles, max)

 Some of the highlights. We have a full 105 build here. Uh, you know, shimano 105 has been a workhorse tried improved throughout the years for shimano. So a lot of times the baseline is where it starts at 105, even though with trickle-down technology there's, some some lower group sets that really do a good job

 We don't get too many cobblestones, but it is designed for the cobbles of the roubaix. So if you need to go down a sidewalk to get to your favorite road to ride at the rims can handle it, the frame can handle it. The bike is definitely engineered. Very robust, but what i really want to convey to people is

 So not a lot of us are, you know, able to do group rides or riding the road straight from our house, and if you want to do that really fast and really efficient, the roubaix is tough enough light enough and fast enough to do it very effectively. Um, like i said this is a ruby sport, so real quick, just kind of going through some of the specs. Some of the highlights. We have a full 105 build here

 But if you want something super solid that has stood the test of time, 105 has been engineered to do that. We got 10 speeds on the back. This rear derailleur hits gears very good. You don't really miss many gears or any gears at all when it comes to 105

2021 Specialized Roubaix Sport - $2900

9 kilos. I'Ve chopped and changed loads of components. When i first weighed it with heavier tyres, different saddle, it was at 8.6 kilos, including pedals and cages

 The ruby expert gets specialized second-tier frame set the very top spec, as with all specialized bikes, is the s-works which is made from what they call fact. 11R carbon. This model is fact 10r specializes a little bit vague about the differences there. Supposedly, it might be around 50 grams heavier making for a frame weight of something in the region of 950 grams, but that's not gospel, don't take it as being absolute fact

 Take it from me [ Music ], my first proper experience with the ruby was driving to italy and riding it in tuscany, on the famous strada bianchi roads around the route of the heroica vintage race. For this trip i fitted 32 millimeter continental gp 5000 tubeless tyres, which remain my favorite all-round choice for this bike, because they're big squishy comfortable, but on tarmac they feel as fast as any other road tyre. I was able to run those down at about 45 50-ish psi and on the relatively smooth but varying gravel of tuscany. They were an absolute light just so so good

 I'M going to tell you why. I’m a 34 year old male, a former smoker for 20 years (*I quit two months ago!*),  and am overweight. I’m 6’ and roughly 240lbs. I’m strongly considering  getting into cycling to lose this weight. For reference I’ve been  overweight since I was 16.

I live  in Colorado. Most of my biking will be on cement, asphalt, and some dirt  roads. I don’t intend to try anything “mountainous” for the time being –  but would like to be able to tackle some beginner trails eventually. I  also intend to use it to commute to work (about ½ mile each way). I plan  on getting a trunk mounted bike carrier for my car so I can go places.

I’m  trying to find a bike and from what I’ve read I’m either looking at a  “Hybrid” or a “Gravel” bike. The two that have caught my eye, if I’m on  the right track here, are the Checkpoint ALR 4 and the FX Sport Carbon  4. Both of these bikes are made by TREK.

What  do you all recommend? Or am I too big for these bikes? Should I be  looking for a different kind of bike? I have not climbed on a bike for,  like, 18+ years.
