The Commuter Pack has made me a roll-top convert and it works really well for me as a whole. I wish it were less of a hair magnet (but there are tons of dog hair in my apartment sadly) and the straps could be better, but overall it feels great to wear when I'm riding my e-scooter.

 The back panel has got some ridges for airflow and some mesh going over top which does help some is pretty comfortable. you know, obviously no bag is gonna totally be able to save you from that dreaded swamp back, but this the the flow and the National that will help some. At the bottom here you can see you got a little hip belt here. It's more of a hip strap, There's no padding, it's just kind of some some webbing material

 you know it's just normal rain fly stuff comes over the whole front of the bag. But what's interesting about this one? It has a little velcro strap and loop here, so what that's for is when you have it over the bag you can hook it around the straps, put this loop around the straps and and secure it so it's not gonna come off of the bag and we'll make sure it stays over top to keep the top of the bag dry.  They kind of hide away. Same with these little tabs down here actually pull out to be some loops. so if you've got some some extra gear you want strap to the outside. You totally can when you're hiking things like that

 What's really nice of you notice is these contoured straps fit really well for us anyway and they get pretty thin down here towards the bottom of the strap which is right about where it'll hit in your like chest arm area. So when you're walking walking around you kind of swing your arms and it's it stays thin and out of the way when doing that, which is which is a nice little feature. You'll have to worry about it chafing if you're doing anything more intense or out for a long period of time. so we do appreciate that

REI Ruckpack 28 Review (Initial Thoughts)

 At that point, it's nice to throw it into a pannier and have it available for walking around, though it's a little tall even for my fairly large pannier. In general, it feels larger than I want a commuter pack to be; there's 4-5" of dead space at the top of the pack, which I suspect would still be too much even with a full-sized laptop in there.

This pack rides well when it's not overloaded; the chest and waist straps keep it in place, and it wraps over my shoulders and back well. But it starts becoming uncomfortable on my back with too much weight; a lock, 11" laptop, full water bottle, change of clothes, notebook, and some snacks starts feeling like too much. At that point, it's nice to throw it into a pannier and have it available for walking around, though it's a little tall even for my fairly large pannier. In general, it feels larger than I want a commuter pack to be; there's 4-5" of dead space at the top of the pack, which I suspect would still be too much even with a full-sized laptop in there

Decent minimal commuter pack

 Would rate 5 stars if there were two adjustments 1) sturdier sleeve for my laptop (sometimes the bag gets tossed around and I'd love more piece of mind into the laptop sleeve's ability to hold and pad my laptop) 2) the zippers are really stiff out of the gates. I assume they will loosen up over time but right now it's not easier to access the pockets and my packed belongings quickly and easily.

 It also had small zippered patches on best for small snacks.  Very. comfortable due to decent hip belt and chest belt.

I've purchased this backpack for my TMB (Tour du Mont Blanc) trek. The first pleasant surprise when I've got it was its weight - the pack is extremely lightweight, which helps a lot to reduce overall weight one has to carry. I've used it to carry everything needed for a two-week trek (w/o a tent and a sleeping bag), overall between 7 and 10 Kg, and was very pleased how the pack fit my back and shoulders. Needless to say that the pack is strong and durable enough to survive such trek

A good backpack for day treks

 I like using daypacks like this with the hip strap for traveling. I use it as my carry on for planes.

 The backpack has many compartments and it has been through some stuff. The backpack is like new, and it comes with some crazy features! The storage space is insane as well, there is so much space to put things, I often don't have enough things to put inside the backpack. The included rain cover (at the bottom of the backpack) is very helpful. Love the backpack, the price is great, the quality is great
