 The cushions on the straps are not very soft and didn't do much to lessen the strain of the bag on my shoulders. The cross-chest strap is very narrow and was not comfortable for me, even though I am a petite woman with a narrow frame. The side "water bottle" pocket is absurdly small, and I have yet to find a water bottle that would actually fit in it. I did use it to pack a couple granola bars and a pouch of applesauce, but anything more than that would not fit

I got this bag for a 4-day trip to Chicago. I didn't want to bring a full suitcase, as I was only using public transit and didn't want to deal with a heavy rolling suitcase on busses and trains. This bag was perfect. I managed to find a set of packing cubes which squeezed into the bag well and allowed me to pack all of the clothes I needed for the trip, and left enough room in the top of the bag to shove in a little pillow for my overnight train rides to and from the city

I it was about two miles of walking to our airbnb and i did the whole thing just wearing my neck and it just felt fine one of the one of the nice things that they did.  I feel it keeps the laptop safer and is meant for comfort but it almost felt too heavy and too padded for me. Once I got everything in it was too much weight for me to carry continuously through airports, terminals, transit, etc. I have traveled with backpacks before but this one felt a bit more restrictive. It’s very structured, which again, could be a pro or con, depending on the buyer

I bought this because TikTok was going on and on about how you could use a backpack like this one as your only item and fit enough inside for a two-week trip. I'm a carry-on girl and with airlines getting more and more restrictive about baggage size, I was intrigued.  The quality of this one was fine for the price, and I appreciated the side compartment for shoes, but the front pockets weren't very accessible and I would have liked to have another zippered compartment around the whole inside face of the bag as well (sealing the main compartment, so you could open up the bag to access the internal compartment on the back of the front flap without everything falling out).  This may not have been a total dealbreaker, but I am also 5'1" and it turned out that a big backpack is just not all that comfortable for me to wear
