Aventon is a relatively new player in the electric bike market, but they've quickly made a name for themselves with great-looking, quality models like the Level Step-Thru. Sleek design and excellent battery integration aside, the Level has a 500W &#40;750W peak&#41; motor capable of a 28 mph top pedal-assisted speed and can be configured as a Class 1, 2, or 3 e-bike. Five levels of pedal assistance provide a great range of support for your pedaling efforts along with a throttle that can zip you along at speeds up to 20mph. The large 672Wh battery and efficient use of power also helped make the Level one of the top performers in our distance range testing. We tested the Step-Thru version &#40;it also comes in a traditional step-over frame&#41; and we found it to be quite comfortable, with a very smooth, stable ride with responsive handling. Unlike many manufacturers that use a one size fits most approach, Aventon offers the Level Step-Thru in two frame sizes to fit riders between 4'11" and 6'2" tall. It also comes with an excellent user interface and useful features like fenders and a heavy-duty rear rack.
We found little to complain about with the Level Step-Thru, but we were a little disappointed that it doesn't come with lights. That said, aftermarket lights are relatively affordable, and the ones that typically come on complete bikes usually aren't that great anyway. Additionally, the handlebar has a limited range of height adjustability, so dialing it in your exact preferences isn't as easy as with some other models. Beyond that, we feel this quality e-bike is a fantastic option for the city, commuting, or just for fun.

 Are ergonomic grips by velo, they've kind of been shaped around the human hand. That really meshes nicely with your palm when you're holding on when it comes to the brakes on this bike. This has hydraulic disc brakes from bangle and 180 millimeter disc rotors. I love that they put hydraulic disc brakes on this bike, because it's rare that you find a bike at this price point that has those hydraulic disc brakes so kudos to event in

 As i mentioned in the specs, it isn't very common that you find a bike around this price point with this nice nice of brakes so kudos to a venting for the brake setup on this bike. It really adds to the overall experience and performance of the event and level [ Music ]. It has been a hell of a day, testing this event and level, and let me say i think this bike is the perfect super commuter for a lot of people. Reason being it hauls on anything, that's relatively flat, and it's also very easy and to maneuver and it's very nimble

7 seconds, that's decent! It would have been a lot faster if i didn't have to engage the pedals first. With that being said, eventon does offer the standard throttle where that test would probably be a little faster than what we received here. Last but not least, with the bike completely off, i got 15.3 seconds, which is respectable, considering the bike is 62 pounds because of this, it is gon na be a little bit hard to push, but because of the fast rolling tires, an eight-speed drivetrain

 Bikers we are to the infamous hill, the one. That'S a half a mile with an average grade of 12 overall. This is the steepest hill. We'Re able to find in town to test out how these e-bikes are capable of climbing, with throttle only and maximum pedal assist

 I think that this suspension fork here really makes the bike come alive reason being, is it really just absorbs a lot of that chatter that bucks you offline and fatigues you faster when you combine the plush suspension fork with the mentioned 680 millimeter handlebar, you have a Very confident front end on this bike, where you can absorb bumps with your body, and the bike can too thanks to its fork. This fork also comes with a lockout for those who do want to ride fully rigid, perhaps for more efficiency, but because i have that pedal assist, i left it fully open for the squish all the time. Your rubber here, you have 27.5 by 2

 This frame feels just as strong as its crossbar brother and i think, eventon's doing a really good job. Finding that median of good looks and good performance, there are a few things in the way of comfort and handling that i want to discuss with you guys on this bike. You may have noticed there is a 75 mil suspension fork on this bike. I'Ve left this out to talk about now

 I'Ve had a good experience with this bike so far. So, let's get into the nitty-gritty of what it's all about: [, Music, ], so the event and level is powered by a 500 watt geared hub motor with a 750 watt peak. I found this motor to be pretty torquey and it gets me up to my top speed pretty easily, where i don't have to work hard. That'S something i very much value in a commuter bike

 Having those eight speeds really plays a factor with you not having to work too hard. I started going up the hill in the hardest gear and i probably shifted four or five times by the time i was at the top just to keep that consistent, cadence going. So. Basically, i see this eight speed drive drivetrain keeping riders fresher and giving them a lot wider gear range for, if you're, on a flat ground, keeping the bike up to speed or crawling up a hill without getting sweaty

The Aventon Soltera definitely looks and feels like a city bike. With large wheels and skinny tires, there is little resistance, and it is made to ride on smooth concrete and asphalt. The Soltera can make sharp, responsive turns and has a quick and agile handling feel. While it doesn't have the most oomph in its 350W motor, it has a smooth and consistent power delivery and no problem supporting speeds up to 20 mph. The 346Wh battery is cleanly integrated into the frame providing sleek looks and decent distance range. If you happen to run out of battery away from home, this bike rides relatively well with no power at all, thanks to its lighter weight and fast-rolling tires. That lighter weight also makes it a bit easier to load onto a bike rack or carry up or down stairs. Aventon's user interface is intuitive to use and displays enough &#40;but not too much&#41; information on the screen, and it gets bonus points for having a compatible app where you can easily change settings and track and share rides. Two frame sizes and two frame styles mean that most riders should be able to find a bike that fits and meets their needs. We also like that Aventon gives you the option to lower costs by getting the simpler single-speed drive train, which is perfect if you don't ride in a hilly area.
This bike is not for the rider who wants to go on long relaxed cruises. A stiffer frame, narrower seat, and skinny wheels don't offer a lot of cushion in your ride, and bumps and cracks in the road are more noticeable. All of this, combined with a more engaged riding position, means this is not a relaxed cruiser kind of bike. It is zippy and tight and requires more active participation from its rider, which could be either a pro or a con depending on who you are. It has a smaller battery which translates to just an average range in our throttle-only test and is not the fastest bike out there. However, as mentioned above, it has many perks that make it city-friendly, and if you don't stray too far from home, the battery size and ride will not likely be significant issues for you. We recommend this bike for city riders who want to upgrade from their regular commuter bike to an electric-powered one without breaking the bank.

Aventon has slowly been expanding its range of electric bikes, and the Soltera is a reasonably priced Class 2 city-style model. This bike has clean lines with a frame-integrated battery, and it is offered in both step-over &#40;tested&#41; and step-thru frame styles, 3 color options, and 7-speed &#40;tested&#41; or single-speed drivetrain configurations. The Soltera rolls fast on 700c wheels and narrower tires with excellent stability at speed and zippy handling. It has a city-bike look and feel, but the riser handlebar helps keep the seated position from being too forward-leaning. The 350W motor happily pushes you along at 20 mph using the throttle, with 5 levels of pedal assist to support your pedaling efforts. It comes with a relatively nice build for the price, plus it has one of the best display/controls we tested that also integrates with the Aventon app. At this price point, it comes with limited features, but it does include a headlight and rear lights that are cleverly integrated into the seat stays of the frame. At 48 lbs and 6 oz, it's also lighter than most other full-size e-bikes, making it a bit easier to carry or load onto a bike rack, and it rides more naturally without power as well. 
With a rigid frame and lower-volume tires, the Soltera is quick and agile, but it isn't the most forgiving over rough surfaces. The 350W motor provides a nice boost of power to amplify your pedaling, but it's far less powerful than the larger motors found on many of the other bikes we tested. Likewise, the smaller 346 Wh battery corresponds to a shorter range in our testing, but realistically, it's probably adequate for most people's needs. That said, we feel the Soltera is a great, reasonably priced option for those seeking a sporty city-style e-bike.

It's also fairly lightweight at 44 lbs and 5 oz, making it a bit easier to carry up or down stairs or load onto a bike rack. 
While we loved the sporty feel and zippy handling of the Soltera, the rigid frame and skinnier tires don't dampen vibration all that well and it can feel a little harsh on rough surfaces. The 350W motor does a fine job supporting your pedaling efforts, but it can't compete with models that have larger motors in the power department. That said, we feel this reasonably priced bike is a great option for city dwellers or commuters looking for a relatively lightweight and good-looking ride.
