 Switching between pausing and playing rapidly on the iPhone also yielded near-instantaneous results, and never forced the stream into crashing, as sometimes occurs&nbsp;with AirPlay. So, for streaming endurance, the B1 gets high marks. But how does it sound?

PerformanceIt's ideal to have the receiver within 25 feet or so of the sound source, with&nbsp;fewer walls and doors involved, but the B1 showed strong performance beyond that. With my iPhone in a room nearly 30 feet away, the B1 pulled a steady stream through two closed doors without a hint of interruption or interference. This was a silly experiment to try to get the B1 to fail, but it never did. Because it wasn't sharing a router with the computers in my test space, the B1 didn't run into the same stuttering issues that often arise with AirPlay in the same&nbsp;setting

 I think the build quality of the device is premium. The only thing that I think that isn't is the antenna, for whatever reason it doesn't seem like it matches the rest of the device. But as far as the connections go, the RCA connections are really solid as well an additional optical audio option for anyone that has a receiver that wants to make that Wireless as well is a really good plus now pairing. The b1 is a fairly simple process

 When I would play audio from my computer. I didn't hear any audio differences, but I did notice when I played it from my phone. I didn't get that and then, when I went back to my computer it didn't do it. It was very intermittent

I did not pay with my own money for this device, but with that said, I will tell you things that I like and did not like about the device and if it's a good buy for people that want to have a wireless receiver for their monitors. All right guys, let's get into it, so I've had the audio engine, be one for about a week now, using it kind of as my daily form of audio when it comes to using my computer and streaming music from my phone.  It is a premium Bluetooth, music receiver.. If you have a new receiver, a home, theater or stereo receiver. Chances are good that it has Bluetooth, built-in or Wi-Fi so there's easy ways to get music to play from your phone on your stereo

 aptX is a higher-quality music transfer over Bluetooth and it's even compatible with aptX HD, which gives you better than CD quality sound.. To get the B1 connected to your stereo, you have two options.

 The D-to-A or digital-to-analog converter is excellent., It's won by AKM and it will take your music, whatever rate it's coming in at and it will up-sample it to 24 bits, giving you crystal-clear quality with very low noise.. And if you have an Android phone you'll be able to take advantage of aptX

Bluetooth music receiver. If you have a new 
receiver, a home theater or stereo receiver,  

chances are good that it has Bluetooth built-in 
or Wi-Fi, so there's easy ways to get music to  

play from your phone on your stereo. But if you 
have older equipment, an older stereo receiver,  

vintage stuff, even things just a few years old, 
chances are it does not have Bluetooth or Wi-F.i  

The Audioengine B1 can give you that ability to 
play music from your phone onto your older devices. 

Let's talk about why it is a "premium" Bluetooth 
music receiver. One is extended range, and that's  

thanks to a couple things: a better antenna, better 
antenna tuning, and signal path circuitry that  

lends itself well to receiving your music. All of 
that works together to give you a range of about a  

hundred feet. Typical Bluetooth receivers give you 
a range of about 33 feet, so that usually means you  

and your phone have to stay in the same room if 
you want to actually play music. With the B1, you'll  

have a range of around 100 feet, so you and your 
phone can leave the room and the music will still  

play. Another reason we call it premium is because 
of sound quality. The DAC built into this, the D-to-A 

or digital-to-analog converter is excellent. It's 
won by AKM, and it will take your music, whatever  

rate it's coming in at, and it will up-sample it

very low noise. And if you have an Android phone,

good, and they're high quality so your music will  

transfer very well. In fact, the build quality in 
general on the B1 is excellent. It's very solid,  

made out of an aluminum case, and it just looks

 On the flip side, I don't want to inadvertently downgrade to a worse option if the Marantz is already decent for audio. Also, I still need to deal with my TV audio..

 It's not a great connection, but I live in a rural area and it's what I have to work from:  1. System 1 - AEB1 connected via TOSLink optical to Musical Fidelity V90 DAC, feeding a Quad 405/2 power amp joined to a Quad 44 pre-amp driving Mission 771 bookshelf speakers.  2. System 2 - AEB1 connected via TOSLink optical to MHDT Havana tube/SS DAD, feeding an Acurus A/150 power amp joined to an Acurus LS11 pre-amp driving vintage Spendor SP1's that I bought new in 1984

  I have thousands of dollars worth of mid-range audiophile equipment that has been constrained by my no longer having all the input sources (vinyl and CD) that I once had. With the $189 addition of the AEB1, I feel like a kid in a candy shop.  It may be that some of the cheaper options work about as well - I don't know - but for $189, why fool around - this thing is a passport to the soundtrack of your life. Highly recommended

 Neither one is close to greatness - the Stanmore has better bass, but does not have the dimension of the Quad/Mission comparator. I think I'm disenchanted with the Missions - they should sound much better being powered by the Quad electronics, but that's not the fault of the AEB1.  System 2/MHDT Havana/Acurus/Spendor is VERY GOOD. I was switching back and forth between Pops Staples' version of "World in Motion" - one from streaming Spotify and the other a Rotel CD player going into the same electronics and speakers

 It is in my bedroom. I am comparing it to a straight BT stream to a Marshall Stanmore BT speaker. Neither one is close to greatness - the Stanmore has better bass, but does not have the dimension of the Quad/Mission comparator. Suited for Audiophile System

I had a $30ish bluetooth adapter that, when paired with an audiophile amp, sounded pretty good, but not up to vinyl quality. I finally decided I'd plunk down some $ for the Audioengine that I had read about in so many product blogs and reviews.  I was pretty sure there would be barely any discernible difference in sound quality, and certainly not enough to justify the steep incremental cost. I felt a little foolish buying it, truth be told

  Two weeks in, I'm a believer. The sound quality truly surpasses what I imagined possible. Setup was a breeze, and the range is impressive. I recommend it without reservation

 I have never heard a wireless signal sound so clean and authoritative in the bottom end without being muddy or losing its musicality. The B1 is extremely quite and I have not detected any background noise at all. Very impressive. As an experiment I decided to hook up the B1 to my Musical Fidelity V90 Dac to see if that made this already great sounding piece better

 I cannot imagine any other Bluetooth product that is more geared towards higher ended listeners than the B1. Other points that are really not a big deal for me are the range. Most of the time I am in the same room listening, however, I have gone as far away as 50 feet from the B1 and signal was still strong and clear. The B1 is compact in size and can hide behind or on top of other components

 This is a Very Good Thing, and makes the B1 a totally unique product (to my knowledge): perhaps the world's only 24-bit Bluetooth DAC.  But what about the sound? I did a quick A/B listening test of the same track played through the B1 and theHRT - Music Streamer II , which is my wired DAC. I'm sorry to say that compared to a good wired DAC, there's really no contest—the sound quality penalty for going wireless is noticeable and significant, but the experience of wireless music through good speakers is magical enough that I'll take the tradeoff. That's not to say that it doesn't sound good, but where the Music Streamer renders music crisp, detailed, and clean, the B1 produces a more Bose-like sound with aggressive highs and exaggerated, rumbling lows

 Bluetooth 2.1 (which is what my aging computer has) can only transfer data at a theoretical maximum rate of 3.0 Mb/s (0.375 MB/s), which isn't enough bandwidth to stream high-quality audio—the files are simply too big

0, so I'm still keeping the B1.  ORIGINAL REVIEW  This is the first and only Bluetooth receiver I've ever bought. I looked at cheaper options, but given that I'm streaming 320 kbps Spotify tracks to M&K Sound MPS1611P reference monitors, it seemed like a tragic bit of false economy to cheap out on the device that's actually getting the music to the speakers. I've had a pair ofAudioengine A2 White speakers for nearly five happy years now, so I have a lot of respect for Audioengine's products

With the B1, you actually get what you pay for

 The more expensive transmitter device tells me which codec is being used, and informs me that the connection is always made using AptX HD, even though the transmitter itself has been told to prefer to use AptX LL, based on the user’s understanding of his/her application space.  The B1 seems to prefer “the best” codec available from the transmitting device, and seems to believe that HD is “better” than LL. In fact, the whole point in supporting both the HD and the LL codecs is that there are different definitions of “the best” based on the application space. One usage model might value audio quality as the most important characteristic, but another might value low latency as the most important

All the modern high-quality transmitters which support AptX protocols whichI have looked at support both HD and LL, which means that the B1 can NEVER function as a low latency receiver

My initial review from 8 December 2019 was a 5-star one, and that still reflects how I feel about the device’s audio quality and its stability. It sounds great, especially when using the AptX HD and AAC codecs. This revised review was written 5 months later, on 25 April 2020; I wish that this could be the end of my review.  However, the device is one part of a larger system, and my requests for help in integrating the B1 into that system have failed to generate any timely response from Audioengine’s C

 Wrong. I have to have both my phone and receiver full blast to get to a normal listening volume. At 185 watts per channel, image the horror of forgetting to turn the volume knob back down before switching from aux. I can’t risk using it

* Speaker Amp: SMSL AD18. Finally my first (but probably not last) audio setup is complete! The sundara is my first set of pro-consumer grade headphones and I am loving the sound so far. To my untrained ears, the audio I am getting is just so much richer and fuller in comparison to what I was using before.

How's it sound? Read a ton of reviews ofc, but I'm debating upgrading from my fidelio x2's to these soon!

Congrats!!! I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am.  I’ve got mine this week and I’m so overwhelmed. I had tried he400i but the bass was lacking too much for my taste, and it gets distorted in 80% volume for tracks with vocals and bass. 
Replaced it with the sundara after extensive research and WOW. Isn’t it amazing? And you probably got an even fuller experience, because I’m pushing mine with a little buddy called Fiio Q1 MarkII, over balanced output, but I can’t complain. It’s all I hoped for and more. Bass boost ON is a cherry on the top of this cake hehe

Can vouch for the zen dac, I have the hip dac which is supposed to be virtually the same sound and it’s great. I couldn’t think of a better option for the price point

It is finally all here!

 Okay, so it comes in like this metal housing, it's fairly lightweight, but it feels solid. You have a power button on the front and a volume knob all in one and then a 3.5 millimeter output for headphones on the front. Now, switching over to the back, you have the 24 volt input is well as a optical input

 So let's say you had your speaker set to ten and you were headphones set to twenty plug in the headphones it's set to 20. Take out the headphones, the volume automatically adjusts back to ten. That way, you don't blow up either a pair of headphones, because the volume will go from zero to sixty five four speakers and if you put it at sixty-five four speakers and then you plug in a headphone in a place at max volume. If you got efficient, headphones, they're gon na break and vice versa, you put thirty five four headphones and then you unplug the headphones as playing thirty-five out out of the speakers

 A micro USB input, a coaxial input and in 3.5 millimeter input. So that's a lot of options. Oh and it's got bluetooth, oh and then it looks like it has NFC

 They both have the same remote and they both have tone controls that allow you to adjust the bass and treble to your personal preference. They had EQ presets that I found somewhat useful because they didn't go overboard in their tuning now on to what's new. The SI 300 uses bluetooth 5.0, as opposed to bluetooth 4

 I normally have these Wharf tails connected to an AVR that is over a hundred watts per channel Class A B, and I really couldn't tell the difference between playing them on the SI 300 versus on that AVR and that's a huge compliment. That'S probably one of the best compliments I could give this amplifier is that I couldn't tell that difference as somebody with a better ear, or maybe with different speakers, could tell the difference I just couldn't. The other thing I did notice is that this amplifier is quiet. Now, if I did turn it to the maximum volume, I was able to get some hiss out of them, but not so bad at most usable volumes

 Now, what's the same? Well, the price is about the same as of right now, they're, both under $ 150. They both claim the same amount of power at 80 watts per channel at 4, ohms and 40 watts per channel at 8 ohms. The screen itself looks very similar in size and shape they're, both multicolored screens, and they give you the option to choose a color that suits your preference. The UI itself seems the same, and you can use them both as decks

 There'S also a 1.4 four-inch color screen, which is cool and on the top. There'S something kind of fascinating, you'll see an NFC tag, and I was wondering what that was about and it's actually pretty cool that allows you to just touch your phone. If it's NFC enabled touch your phone to that and it'll connect you to Bluetooth without having to do anything, so you can pair and also unpair, just by touching your phone to this

 It also has some built-in EQ so there's flat. There'S something called s DB, which is proprietary to them, I'm assuming that that's some kind of dynamic adjustment, I'm not sure exactly because they don't say too much on your website about it all. It says here on their Amazon. Is it's a patented s, DB, sound and plus and minus 8 level treble and bass adjustment? Okay? So, as far as these different EQ settings, what I did was I using my calibrated mic to take some measurements to see what these are actually doing
