 The retailer I bought mine from threw in some nice thick gauge speaker wire, but Audioengine, normally includes a 12 foot, 16 gauge wire to connect your right speaker to the left, one that contains the amplifier for both, as well as the rest of the i/o. And I guess, since we're on the subject, here's all the stuff you'll find back there a base port that you should keep at least six inches from anything behind the speaker, a massive heatsink that you should also keep away from any airflow impeding obstructions a three-and-a-half millimeter Input jack next to a USB power output for convenient use with an mp3 player or phone a standard RCA input for convenient use with almost anything else, an RCA output for an optional subwoofer or audio engines. So there you have it I recommended by. If you want a great listening experience and for some reason you don't like headphones, which will invariably give you better bang for your buck.  When I was doing my listening testing than any of the other solutions, they were up against, including the simple audio, listen Bowers & Wilkins mm ones, both companion 5s, an audio engineer, two pluses, whether or not you are able to consider buying these speakers may simply come Down to whether you have enough physical space next to your monitor, to fit them number two is the features or lack thereof compared to other speakers in this roundup, the a5 pluses do not feature bluetooth, wireless music, playback or an integrated DAC. Audioengine A5+ Powered Desktop Speakers

 Connecting a cable to the aux or RCA input doesn't kill the Bluetooth connection, presumably because Audioengine wants you to be able to have multiple sources connected simultaneously. This presents a minor issue, however: In the absence of a source switch, you can play multiple sound sources (like a Bluetooth streaming source and an aux input source, for instance) simultaneously. This doesn't really pose any risks for the drivers, but it feels like an oversight.

If you want a good-looking, high quality all-in-one wireless speaker system, perhaps with a companion app or voice assistance, you have strong options in the Google Home Max, the Sonos One, and the Urbanears Baggen. But not everyone wants a "smart" speaker, and most audiophiles will want to completely avoid voice assistance and notification interruptions, heavily applied digital signal processing (DSP), and the typical lack of stereo separation that is often part of the deal.

 The sub-bass synth hits that punctuate the beat perhaps sound a bit dialed back&mdash;there's depth there that we don't quite hear, but this could be handled by a connected subwoofer. The vocals sound excellent, with ideal clarity that lacks the overly boasted high-mids and highs that can make things sound too sibilant.

 In other words, this is pretty close to the flat-style frequency response many audiophiles seek, which is rare in the wireless speaker realm.

Audioengine A5+ Wireless Review

 For the white and black versions and the $ 50 premium for the bamboo, I'd really say consider whether or not you have enough space to properly drive these as speaker, placement is crucial. Also, if you don't care whether or not you get reference signature, but want something with energy and fun and lots of headroom for bigger spaces, then we certainly recommend these damn good speakers. Now, what about you guys? Would you rather spend the money on a pair of headphones or, if you're picky about natural sound go with reference monitors?  I think the looks are slightly misleading is I was expecting clean and controlled response. Instead of punchy and fun, the lows are too dominant. It'S an overly warm sound with very smooth high ends, so you do lose out on plenty of brilliance, meaning guitar picks that shoot sound, crisp and natural, sound soft and distant. The main range on the a5 plus moderately recessed, but definitely open up after about 40 hours or so of listening

 Then we have the RCA stereo input, so you can connect these to a dag and there's also an RCA variable output with a built-in preamp. So you can connect a subwoofer to the setup. Then we have the output to the passive right speaker on which there are a pair of RCA inputs with binding connectors, so just insert the speaker wire and secure the ports. Coming back to the left speaker, there is a power on/off switch voltage, select based on your region and that's already pre-selected

 Like I said earlier, these are not reference monitors, so the a5 Plus wouldn't be ideal for music creation, but man are they really fun to listen to the bass response due to the 5 inch woofers is really tight and dominant. These would be totally overkill for casual listening, but if you plan to fill the room with powerful sounds for parties and blast them out to watch some movies you'll be completely satisfied. Audioengine A5+ Speakers (Bamboo) Review

Ideally I’d like a setup that can work with my TV, turntable, and also possibly having Bluetooth available as well. I’m not an expert and would consider myself still a beginner in this space..

I’ve been wanting to upgrade because I have no need for a USB turntable and I want a more minimalist design. I listen to all music types, but mostly Rock, Pop, Country, EDM. I’ve been starting to research some upgrades from the AT-LP120 turntable into the Planar 3, Marantz, and Clearaudio turntables. 

I have 3 small children. Is there a secure cabinet recommendation anyone has to protect my investment? The plan is to buy an Audio-Technica ATLP120XBT turntable, Yamaha N303 receiver, and Sony SSCS3 speakers.

My Yamaha RX-V673 started losing audio about three weeks ago. I had to turn it on and off a few times for the sound to work. I checked the cables and everything seems to be working fine except the audio from the receiver. It is 8 years old now and I am not going to invest any more time/money to fix it at this point.

I have Bose 5.1 cube speakers that were connected to it for reference. I am looking for a good replacement receiver for sub $500. I haven't been in the know for what's out now. Just looking for suggestions. I was looking at Yamaha, but I also read some of the Denon's are good quality.

Any recommendations?

Hey guys, I just wanted to start off that I have almost no knowledge about audiophile stuff. I'm a broke uni student and was looking to upgrade from some $25 Logitech 150 speakers.

I'll be mostly using it for listening to music at my desk while on my computer/laptop, along with watching videos and gaming but that's secondary to me. I like to hear the bass and kicks in my music so I've added some 2.1 speaker sets as a suggestion (sorry if this is not how kicks and bass works, I dunno anything)

I've done some research and looked at some potential speakers, I'd really like my budget to be around $150 CAD but upper limit is $200 CAD.

* Micca PB42X Powered Bookshelf Speakers (I know these are subreddit's recommended entry speaker)

Hey guys! Looking for some help here. Keep in mind I’m fairly new to the turntable game, so if this is a stupid question, I apologize in advance. This may be a bit long, but I’m going to try to give as much information as I can. I recently upgraded from an LP60 to a U Turn Orbit custom with the acrylic platter, built in preamp, cue lever, and Ortofon Red cartridge. Setup was easy, and the music is fantastic sounding. The problem I have is a constant buzzing from my speakers when the preamp is turned on. I have the supplied RCA cables from the preamp into my Edifier powered speakers. Both the turntable and the speakers are plugged into the same wall outlet. I have tried a different outlet for both, with no change. I have tried a different RCA cable, no change. I have flipped the RCA cables, no change. Things I have noticed are that if I touch the tonearm, the buzzing gets quieter, if I get close to the plugs on the back of the cartridge, the buzzing gets louder. If the RCA plugs are in the speakers, but not the preamp, the buzzing still occurs. It’s all connected the same way the LP60 was, and there was no buzzing from the speakers then. I have been speaker with U Turn, and they want me to send videos etc, which I will, but I wanted to ask here first in case it’s something obvious I’m just missing. Thank you in advance!

Hello everyone.

I've been using my Logitech X530 speakers with 5.1 surround sound. It worked very well while watching movies and even gaming. However, some weeks ago the rear right speaker is not working as there's no sound coming out. I've tested the specific speaker in the other slots (rear left, center, etc) and the speaker will work and come with sound. I would assume there's something wrong with the subwoofer itself in the right rear slot, but I would just like to try my luck and see if anyone could help.

BUT. needs to be smooth treble, no upper mids spike. Shouty free... Generally an easy listening with good resolution.

System help

I have acquired multiple hifi and home theatre stereo systems from my grandparents and would love some help making sure I am making the most out of them.  

I currently have two setups: 
1. debut carbon turntable to a McIntosh 250 power amp and c26 solid state pre amp to canton speakers 
2. A Bose CD player (yikes) to a bottle head sex headphone amp to a pair of grados

I love the sound I’m getting, the only thing is I have an audio research ls2 stereo line amplifier, an adcom gfa-535 power amp, as well as a few fancy looking Yamaha a/v receivers with big numbers like RX a2050 and RX v3900 that are sitting totally unused.

I recently bought Edifier R1280T and noticed they don't have a headphone jack. Does buying a headphone amp fix this issue or are these speakers not compatible with one since they're already powered?

Do you think it's worth buying a Music Fidelity M6si for my JBL Studio 590s and the 550p?  I was thinking the M5si may be a bit more wallet friendly, but the extra power from the M6si kind of matches the semi inefficient 590s with 220wpc.  But it'll work out to another $1k.  At the same time, I don't know if spending that much on speaker's that are $2k per pair MSRP but often $900-1000 on sale is worth it.  A lot of reviewers talk about the speakers performing like much more expensive tower speakers with a decent amplifier.

I've got a very annoying issue. I'm using the 3.5mm output of my PC's motherboard with RCA leads going to my Pioneer stereo amplifier and have that outptting to a single Q Acoustics 2020i speaker.

I am seeking a turntable and I want it to be Nice looking and fully working but I have no idea what makes the costs différences. 


It will be connected via à bluetooth module to à BT speaker, as we dont like wires everywhere at home.

issue with sony turn table and edifer bluetooth speakers

I just plugged a Sony turn table into a pair of edifer blue tooth speakers and the sound is extremely quiet. I plugged all the rca cables in the right place and the old turn tables sounded fine. I’m pretty sure this is a common problem, do any of you know the solution or will this turn table just not take to these speakers.

Currently in a NYC studio apartment, looking to upgrade my TT and currently eyeing the X2 and the RP-3, though with what I read about upgrades and the like, it seems like I might as well just take the hit and make the jump to the RP6. But I want to feel confident that my current speakers/receiver/pre-amp are going to be able to express what a new TT brings to the fray. I'm also open to an alternate phono-amp if it'll support the setup better. The only other real issue I can think of is that I have wooden floors and that seems to cause my AT-120 to skip when I walk sometimes. (TT is properly setup)

Last little bit: I'm wondering about a setup that might let me carry the line to the Receiver, but also have a headphone out so I can listen from the couch (nearest the TT).  The Receiver is driving the TV/Switch, etc...and is just a bit too far for it to really reach the couch easily.  Haven't dug in to find out if there's anything like that or if I'll just have to get some splitters.

and want quality over volume. Seems like stereo 2 would be best for this price range. Don’t care for a subwoofer. Edifier R1700BT not working

I got some Edifier speakers today and the setup was fine and I connected it to my turntable and it was all good, and then maybe 10 seconds into the record I was playing the speakers just made a popping noise and stopped working. I don't 100% know if it was the turntable or the speakers, but after this happened I tried connecting the speakers via bluetooth to my phone and computer but I can't connect it. The manual implies that there is a button or switch on the speakers themselves that turn bluetooth on but there is no bluetooth button on it, the closest thing to it is the remote which has a bluetooth button but when I press it nothing happens. The power indicator button also doesn't light up even though everything's plugged in and should be working. It doesn't light up when I press any buttons on the remote either. I've tried unplugging my record player, turning the speakers on and off and resetting both my phone and computer but the bluetooth still doesn't show up. I don't know if the bluetooth was working or not before I connected the record player and heard the pop.

I don't want to return them without 100% knowing that they aren't working so if anyone can help me  figure out how to get them working so I can at least connect them to bluetooth. I feel like I might be missing something but the manual hasn't helped and no search results online have helped either. Willing to provide more info if anyone can help.
