 What a morning it's been. Hi it's Phil from Snow and Rock and here we are with the Atomic Vantage 79 Ti. We were fortunate enough to spend a bit of time with the guys from Atomic out on the slopes where we got to give this a real run for its money with the conditions being a bit hard-packed and fast and I tell you what this new pro-light construction really makes the ski sing. As you're going down the hill you have a great amount of stability in it

 As you can see here what they've done is they've taken the core, they've taken the the top sheet and they hollowed it out a little bit. Now that reduces the swing weight of the ski making your life, my life a bit easier to maneuver it around on the piece but ultimately what it doesn't take away or detract from at all is its stability and performance at high speed and at low speed and when the conditions get a little bit softer in the afternoon you can be confident to know that the the tip and the tail will allow you to engage all the way through and the tip has just enough width on it that allows you to plow through that those mixed conditions but I have to say we had an awesome time so great for the time spent with the guys from Atomic and this is a really really fantastic ski I'm sure you'd enjoy it as well

Designed to promote progression and boost confidence on groomed runs, the Atomic Vantage 79 Ti is a piste ski that rails turns hard without the catchy feeling of some other performance carving skis, while holding their mettle off-piste as well.

Featuring a 79mm waist width, the Vantage 79 Ti benefits from excellent responsiveness edge-to-edge while the addition of a Titanium Tank Mesh within the core adds a level of torsional stability and dampness under-foot that you would expect from a much heavier ski with full-length metal reinforcement.

Atomic use a different construction method than usual for these skis. It did fine on groomers but if you're going to be skiing mostly on piste I would consider looking into better options. Within Volkl's line, the Secret 96 is much stiffer and has better piste performance while still being able to handle all but the deepest softest stuff off the piste. Handles the crud amazingly well- will blast through anything while still not being an overly demanding ski with the newer construction. The older Secret 92 is a different story

I'm looking for a new pair of all-mountain skis for this season, and have narrowed it down to the Line Pandora 94 and Völkl Blaze 94. They seem pretty similar in terms of specs/performance, but I much prefer the look of the Pandoras (really dislike the Blazes' colors/design). I'm a little worried about the Pandoras' quality; I've read that some other people have had issues with their Line skis delaminating after just a few days, and I'll be bringing these skis with me to France for a month-long ski trip, where I'll be skiing \~20 days. I'm not an aggressive skier, and don't do any park skiing, but I don't think I'd be able to get quick warranty service while there, so that's giving me pause if there are any quality control issues. 

Does anyone have experience with either ski? And specifically, does anyone have any insight on the quality of the Pandoras/Line skis generally? Thanks!

Shape of the ski, it's a groomer ski, it's a frontside ski, can be taken in the woods, trees, 9200 ways you're going to be able to hit the crud in a little bit of powder and have some fun, but it's definitely a hard charging groomer type ski. I actually own this ski, love this ski, and I use it, I'm an ex-racer. I think it alludes to someone with some classical training who really likes to get their skis on edge and fully go from tip to tail through their turns

 It's a beautiful ski, look at that top sheet, one of the better graphics out there. I do love all of Volkl's graphics though, so I'm a little, you know, not super lightweight, definitely a metal ski, frontside groomer. I would take it just about anywhere, as I said, in the trees, into the boggles, into the bumps. It's not a powered ski, it's definitely a resort ski, but you can have a lot of fun on it
