 What a morning it's been. Hi it's Phil from Snow and Rock and here we are with the Atomic Vantage 79 Ti. We were fortunate enough to spend a bit of time with the guys from Atomic out on the slopes where we got to give this a real run for its money with the conditions being a bit hard-packed and fast and I tell you what this new pro-light construction really makes the ski sing. As you're going down the hill you have a great amount of stability in it

 As you can see here what they've done is they've taken the core, they've taken the the top sheet and they hollowed it out a little bit. Now that reduces the swing weight of the ski making your life, my life a bit easier to maneuver it around on the piece but ultimately what it doesn't take away or detract from at all is its stability and performance at high speed and at low speed and when the conditions get a little bit softer in the afternoon you can be confident to know that the the tip and the tail will allow you to engage all the way through and the tip has just enough width on it that allows you to plow through that those mixed conditions but I have to say we had an awesome time so great for the time spent with the guys from Atomic and this is a really really fantastic ski I'm sure you'd enjoy it as well

Designed to promote progression and boost confidence on groomed runs, the Atomic Vantage 79 Ti is a piste ski that rails turns hard without the catchy feeling of some other performance carving skis, while holding their mettle off-piste as well.

Featuring a 79mm waist width, the Vantage 79 Ti benefits from excellent responsiveness edge-to-edge while the addition of a Titanium Tank Mesh within the core adds a level of torsional stability and dampness under-foot that you would expect from a much heavier ski with full-length metal reinforcement.

Atomic use a different construction method than usual for these skis. Rather than milling away material from their raw materials, they start with slimmest possible profile and build up the ski layer by layer alloweing them to create reinforcement in the most crucial areas to provide strength exactly where it's needed, all throughout the skis. A great example of this is the Energy Backbone which assists with edge grip when in a turn.

 You can really see that tail rise and what that does is allow you to wiggle around in that deeper snow, release that tail easier. It also reduces that radius just slightly in order to make you allow you to make quicker turns when you need to in bumps or trees. Who I would gear this 104 for is more of an advanced expert lady skier, someone that really wants high performance from a wider ski. It would be a great ski if you still wanted to ski on trail a little bit but mainly skiing off trail and in the powder

This is one of my favorite powder skis for those days that are a little bit denser out there. Because it has the metal in the construction you can really power through that denser powder

 It does have a single sheet of metal and unlike its old predecessors where it had two sheets, that reduced the weight and made it a little bit more approachable, making it less fatiguing throughout the day. Never takes away from the performance though, it's definitely still a powerful ski that can take you in the woods, powder and on piste.  It also includes their carbon tip or sorry true tip technology which is a reduced tip construction which reduces the weight of the ski and allows you to get into the turn easier. The biggest difference between this Santa Ana and the others in the series is the tip in the tail rocker. It still has that shovel tip that we have in all the other Santa Anas that allows that tip to go glide over crud, float over powder and really an easy turn on those groomed trails.
