 What a morning it's been. Hi it's Phil from Snow and Rock and here we are with the Atomic Vantage 79 Ti. We were fortunate enough to spend a bit of time with the guys from Atomic out on the slopes where we got to give this a real run for its money with the conditions being a bit hard-packed and fast and I tell you what this new pro-light construction really makes the ski sing. As you're going down the hill you have a great amount of stability in it

 As you can see here what they've done is they've taken the core, they've taken the the top sheet and they hollowed it out a little bit. Now that reduces the swing weight of the ski making your life, my life a bit easier to maneuver it around on the piece but ultimately what it doesn't take away or detract from at all is its stability and performance at high speed and at low speed and when the conditions get a little bit softer in the afternoon you can be confident to know that the the tip and the tail will allow you to engage all the way through and the tip has just enough width on it that allows you to plow through that those mixed conditions but I have to say we had an awesome time so great for the time spent with the guys from Atomic and this is a really really fantastic ski I'm sure you'd enjoy it as well

Designed to promote progression and boost confidence on groomed runs, the Atomic Vantage 79 Ti is a piste ski that rails turns hard without the catchy feeling of some other performance carving skis, while holding their mettle off-piste as well.

Featuring a 79mm waist width, the Vantage 79 Ti benefits from excellent responsiveness edge-to-edge while the addition of a Titanium Tank Mesh within the core adds a level of torsional stability and dampness under-foot that you would expect from a much heavier ski with full-length metal reinforcement.

Atomic use a different construction method than usual for these skis. Rather than milling away material from their raw materials, they start with slimmest possible profile and build up the ski layer by layer alloweing them to create reinforcement in the most crucial areas to provide strength exactly where it's needed, all throughout the skis. A great example of this is the Energy Backbone which assists with edge grip when in a turn.

These skis come packaged with a set of FT 12 GW Bindings, these system bindings will not arrive mounted due to safety reasons. We are happy to mount these in any of our Snow + Rock stores free of charge, simply bring one of your ski boots in with you!

 But hold on a second, wait isn't this supposed to be a touring ski? How many of you really want that? I'm thinking instead of the two this is the one that's a little more surfy playful pivoty. It feels definitely looser in the middle to me and that's probably what most of you are looking for. If I'm looking for a powder ski I am definitely gonna reach for this versus the Zero G. I would probably at my body weight ride it in 95 because I don't need all that flotation

 We're riding ATK bindings here which are absolutely fantastic but they're quite a bit lighter than the looks we were on on the Zero G. I think this is a pound lighter as a rig and and I don't know how much of that comes from this ski. So I'm just gonna guess that the Helio is no heavier than the Zero G and possibly even lighter which is kind of hard to believe because we're getting at down into like a five pound range. Extremely light

 Excellent ski to compare with the Zero G. They're both actually made by Blizzard. And let's see what we think about Black Diamonds take on a 95 millimeter wasted touring ski. I don't know the weight, I forgot to ask

Black Diamond Helio Carbon 95 Review: in contrast to the Zero G, the Helio is more oriented toward soft snow and powder performance.  Loose and lively underfoot, the Helio is quite light (approx 6.3lbs/pair) and a worthy choice for skiers seeking a backcountry/touring ski in this weight range.
