 Another new line of skis from K2 in 2020 is the Mindbender range and these the

 Mindbender 990i sit slap-bang in the middle of this range of skis offering a

 great deal of versatility across the entire mountain. Coming in just short 2

 kilograms per ski for the 184 centimeter length you'll soon realize who these

 skis are for. Those who prefer things fast and directional. It's certainly worth

 noting that these skis aren't really for people who prefer things slow and steady

 but capable skiers should listen up though because these skis are an

 absolute blast. The entire Mindbender range are split up into two different

 fields. Those that have TI in the name feature a sheet of titanal that runs the

 full length of the ski. Whereas those with C in the name feature K2's carbon

 spectral braid which is also found on the Reckoner 102 series and this gives

 the ski a slightly less demanding ride. A moderate use of four millimeters of

 camber underfoot is paired with very slight tip rocker and just a touch of

 tail rocker and this gives you a ski that's happy to be rolled onto an edge

 and remain locked onto that edge throughout the length of the turn. The

 skis do feature just a touch of tapering both in the tips and the tails to help

 with that soft snow maneuverability but we're happy to see that K2 haven't gone

 overboard with this tapering and brought it deep into the ski and that's because

 a ski of this build really does deserve as much effective edge as possible for

 high-speed trench laying. In the right hands all metal skis of this way are an

 absolute joy to pilot thanks to their damp energetic and precise qualities

 and these skis the K2 Mindbender 99 TI are exactly that. If you're someone who

So far, I'm thinking K2 Mindbender 99Ti + Shift 13 MNC bindings + boots that feel good after a fitting. One concern is that the Mindbenders + Shifts might be a bit on the heavy side for uphill, but I'm guessing could probably suck it up..

 I'm unaffiliated and unsponsored, so my feedback is unbiased. These skis rip, they are built to last. They are bombproof. These things grip edge like there's no tomorrow

 The edge grips is tremendous on this ski. There wasn't much chatter at high speed, so that was very, it was really nice. I mean, it might be a little bit stiff, but at the same time, it was very, very solid performer in the bumps. Not the best mogul ski, but very, very, very good

 They're not the most forgiving skis, so I wouldn't recommend these for, you know, big jumps. This is the Powerwall, and this really helps the ski hold that edge underfoot. I can't say more about how much these grip. So as a hardwood in this core, you can really feel that torsional rigidity in a good way

Look no further than the K2 Mindbender.  At a 99mm waist, this ski is ideal for dominating hardpack, chop, and crud but will still float on a powder day!  With oversized sidewalls and a Titanal Y-Beam throughout the ski, the Mindbender was made to provide the ultimate in edge to edge control and stability.  Its dense wood core and stiffer construction makes for a super damp ride that begs for an aggressive stance.  This is a true high performance downhill ripper!
