Lid: The lid sits a little too tight and there is a lack of any real lip that would make opening this laptop easier. Add the lip on the next gen. Pros: Size/weight: I bought this laptop knowing I was going to commute to and from school so I sought the most performance in the smallest package. This laptop meets that demand without breaking my wallet unlike the other brands in this tier

Again, not even as loud as my old laptop so it doesn't bother me at all. WEIGHT: This is so lightweight! My old one was a bit heavy and clunky, so I appreciate the fact this is so light. The downside of that is that the casing does feel cheap. Like it might not survive getting dropped on the carpet

I bought on April 14, 2021 and it is a great PC, but over-priced for the reasons below I am using the laptop for work and only two issues which are show-stoppers for me: 1. with 70% screen brightness I am getting less than 6 hours battery before it goes into battery saving mode so not a full-shift device unless on external power - my old surface pro 4 lasted a full shift 2. Cannot sit the laptop on my lap - hot enough to do some damage, so that makes it a desktop, not a laptop Unit has to go back - too bad - can't imagine it will go the distance running this hot

I intend to use the laptop for programming, netflix, maybe some light machine learning, and for taking notes during class, so I'd like a decent battery life too if possible. Here are my choices:. * Acer Aspire 5 (R7 4700U) - this is kind of a favorite of mine at the moment, it has the biggest battery of the bunch at 48Wh and the port selection is very solid too.
