These panels are easily good enough for 240hz and in the case of the vg279 qm borderline capable of 280 hertz, while the upgrade from 240 to 280 hertz...

Purchased for my xbox series x and unfortunately, this monitor is not capable of displaying 1440p at a higher refresh rate than 60hz with the xbox series x. This monitor will only use 120hz refresh and higher through the display port input, not the HDMI port that the xbox series x uses. I have purchased a Club 1331 hdmi to display port converter and see if that will allow 120hz when it arrives.

First let’s take a look at the resolution and size.. This monitor is 27 inches and has a 1080p resolution

This is replacing a 24" monitor that I used for a couple of years and what a difference!! I was concerned that this might be too big but it turns out to be the perfect size! At 2560x1440 the text is still very clear and legible for my not so great eyes. Very easy to multi-task with split screen. Passed the few online monitor evaluations I tried with flying colors (no pun intended). Very pleased with this monitor and glad I made the jump to the larger size

However, that's about where the negatives end for this monitor, because everything else ranged from good to holy crap. Let's start with the holy crap,...

I primarily game on the Xbox X and although that system can’t push more than 60hz the response/imput lag of this monitor is very impressive. The Samsung Ch70 according to many is the best monitor possible for the Xbox and after using both the 650 performs slightly better. So if HDR is not important and you want a monitor with above average picture quality with excellent response/imput lag then this is for you.

Best colour accuracy and sharpness is a what I'm after, as well as g-sync compatibility. Looking for something over 120Hz. Stumbled upon the ASUS TUF VG259QM and the MSI MAG251RX, and I like the latter a bit better due to the better contrast and colour accuracy, however I normally play games I run somewhere between 90-170 fps so the 240Hz or 280Hz performance is not something I'll really take advantage of.

Even with the latest RTX 3000 cards from Nvidia, 4K gaming is still not playable... Not like this! And 1440p should have never been made

So you can have a quick select down there if you'd like like, if you're watching a movie or playing a game, you can just switch those easily I'm over ...

Viewing angles could be better, but as I said, this is for gaming, not watching movies.

There are very few perks with this monitor: no USB for peripherals, no cool LED lights behind the screen, limited inputs, no split screen. I could talk about the color and brightness, but there is no point. The one huge glaring fault with this monitor makes calibrating or even trying to adjust the picture moot. The viewing angle at the edges is so large at the distance I sit, that the color gets washed out at the edges

The refresh rate easily adjustable and adapts on the fly with no issues noted. The speakers of course are the weaker element as is standard at this point but they are feasible for podcasts and otherwise stated above. Where the monitor falls apart is the build quality which is less than ideal. The stand it comes with while functional is far from sturdy and never locks the monitor in place
