This is disappointing because most stores that sell the G14 offer a free copy - no thunderbolt 3 Amazon has also increased the price by 10% since I last bought it a few weeks ago. Consider the price, and whether it's worth it for you. The price will likely go higher than it is now.

Alienware m17, good bang for buck, but seems chunky with the big vent on the back. aesthetics are a little too techy for me.

I wanted something smaller for lugging to work and didn't have a lot of options so I went with the g14. The specs are ridiculous for it's size so I was expecting a hot laptop that sounded like it was preparing for liftoff when playing demanding games and that's what I got. I didn't expect some rather silly issues like it not wanting to sleep or hibernate and turning my laptop bag into a furnace. Other then that it's been a overpowered for it's size, good laptop

It’s just for show, but nevertheless, it’s a basic trackpad with support for Windows Precision drivers and gesture customization in Windows. I’d like to see Alienware follow in Razer and MSI’s footsteps and implement bigger trackpads instead of superfluous features like trackpad backlighting. This current one is a little too small, almost seeming to signal that you should use a dedicated mouse instead, which is usually my advice with most gaming laptops anyway. Speaking of accessories, grab a gaming headset, as the built-in speakers aren’t anything special
